Race Day: Tri-Track Open Mod Series Making Historic Stafford Debut With CBYD Modified Classic 81

STAFFORD – Race day has arrived at Stafford Motor Speedway for an event that has taken on a “One For The Ages” type of aura.

The Tri-Track Open Modified Series makes its Stafford Speedway debut today with the running of the CBYD Modified Classic 81.

The $10,000 to win event features a current entry list of 52 cars vying to make a likely starting field of 30. It’s an entry list that features everything from every champion of the last decade on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, to Stafford dominators and even the best Modified talent of the south.

Just making the feature event will prove to be drama ultra-dramatic with the starting field for the CBYD Modified Classic 81 being set through five heat races, two consolation heats and a last chance B-Main event that would likely stand as the showcase feature at most southern New England tracks.

And to add to all the attraction of the event, sparkling fall weather with temperatures in the low to mid 60’s is expected.

The pits open at 8:30 a.m. and the grandstand gates swing open at 11 a.m. Tri-Track Modified Series heats start at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets to the event are sold out but a pay per view option is available through staffordspeedway.tv

  1. Good luck to all!!!!!

Looks like Stafford regulars will be at the top if they can survive. Rocco, Pitkat, Preece, JBon, MCJr, Dowling, Lutz, Williams, Silk, Hirschman and a couple others.

But no Coby. Coby will be lucky to finish the race. There will be a full field of what should be close racing. Coby will not have a chance. He will not be riding a superior car, like the black 2 he is used to, so he will be merely pedestrian, having to race with the rest of the field, and we know Coby sucks in traffic. Look at the last NWMT race where he wrecked himself out in traffic. Could you imagine Coby running the SK series?

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

With the melting pot of drivers and cars, there will most likely be many, many yellow flags that will keep the field together, requiring bold moves, resulting in more yellows. There will be high attrition, unfortunately. Only 81 laps to work with. Track position is CRUCIAL. Restarts will be very valuable.

“Go Time” is going to be wild. 😜 Go time comes early in this race, a few feet after the green flag!!!!!

I’m thinking Sap is gonna have a great day.
