(Sophia, NC): “Big Money” Matt Hirschman lived up to his name tonight at Caraway Speedway.
Hirschman in his Pee Dee Racing Modified laid claim to the $250.00 posted by Speed 51 by edging Craig Lutz for the top spot for the 18thannual “John Blewett III Memorial presented in Memory of Charles Kepley” North-South Shootout.
Hirschman’s lap of 15.747 seconds bested Lutz by 0.065 of a second and Brian Loftin by 0.085. Fourth spot went to Jason Myers and Burt Myers rounded out the top five.
Brandon Setzer edged Carson Kvapil to take the top spot for the Super Late Model feature. Setzer claimed the $250.00 pole award posted by Speed 51. Justin Crider qualified third while TJ Duke and Kyle DeSouza rounded out the top five.
Kevin Orlando took the top spot in 602 Modified qualifying while Matt Henley took the honors in the 602 Super Limited division. Qualifying for the Limited Late Models and Mini Stocks takes place Saturday morning.
Grandstand open at 10.00 AM and the first race rolls off at 1:30 PM. Admission is $40.00 for Adults, Youth 7 – 14 are $0.00 and Kids six and under are free.
