Last week Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports reported that former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Ryan Preece will likely run a part-time schedule on the NASCAR Cup Series for JTG Daugherty Racing in 2021.
Preece ran full-time for the organization on the Cup Series in 2019 and 2020.
JTG Daugherty’s three-year lease on a Cup Series team charter for Preece’s No. 37 car ran out after the 2020 season.
Brad Daugherty, one of the JTG Daugherty team owners, told Pockrass that the organization has funding in place for Preece to run 24 of 36 Cup Series events in 2021.
RaceDayCT spoke exclusively with Preece Monday about his prospects with the team for 2021.
Listen to what Preece had to say about the issues facing the team in 2021, how he plans to handle the situation and how he sees his career moving forward on this special Unmuffled Quickcast.

Funded “drivers” over Talented ones is and will continue to ruin racing on many levels. Call me crazy but I always seemed to enjoy watching the Talented ones over the My Dad has money drivers more.
I totally agree
That was sad. He manned up, pointed the finger at no one, looked to seize opportunities that present themselves saying all the right things. It was still sad in my view.
