NASCAR Cup Series driver and former NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Ryan Preece will be celebrating his Easter off weekend from his full-time job to get back in a Tour Type Modified car.

Preece has entered Saturday’s Souther Modified Auto Racing Teams (SMART) event at South Boston (Va.) Speedway.

It marks Preece’s first event in a Modified since the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in early February at New Smyrna Speedway. Preece won the John Blewett III Memorial 76 at New Smyrna Speedway in February.

Preece has said in recent months that he will have an extensive schedule of Modified events in 2021.

Preece, the 2013 Whelen Modified Tour champion, is also entered into the Whelen Modified Tour season opening event at Martinsville Speedway scheduled for April 8.

Preece is currently 18th in the NASCAR Cup Series standings.
