Entry Forms Released For June And July Outlaw Open Modified Events At Thompson Speedway

(Press Release from American-Canadian Tour)

Provisional Schedule Outline & Pricing Also Announced for Wednesday Events

American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) have released the entry forms for the next two Outlaw Open Modified Series events at Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. The Nutmeg State 75 on Wednesday, June 16 and the Spirit of 76 on Wednesday, July 7 are part of a six-division card for the track’s 82nd summer of racing.

Both events will pay $5,000 to win and $600 to start. Nearly $29,000 in awards have been posted based on a full 32-car starting field. The entry form has been posted at www.acttour.com/outlaw-open-modifieds.

The early-entry deadline for both races is two weeks before the scheduled date. The first 26 teams that file their entries will receive a garage stall for the day. Subsequent entries will be wait-listed for garage stalls in the order the entries were received.

Just like at the recent Thompson Icebreaker, the top Tour-type Modified racers will go at it during the Wednesday night shows throughout the summer. Outlaw Open Modified Series events are also scheduled for August 11 and September 15. The Sunoco Modifieds, ACT-type Late Models, Limited Sportsmen, SK Light Modifieds, and Mini Stocks will be part of all four Wednesday shows. The Late Model events also count for points towards the ACT New England Late Model Challenge Cup.

The six-race series concludes with the $20,000-to-win Thompson 300 as part of the 59th World Series of Speedway Racing on October 8-10. Modified champions Keith Rocco, Doug Coby, Ronnie Williams, Jon McKennedy, and Chris Pasteryak are among the early entries for the first Thompson 300 since 2005.

ACT and PASS have also released the provisional schedule and pricing for the Wednesday events at Thompson Speedway. The pits will open at 2:00pm with practice at 3:30pm. Qualifying begins at 5:30pm followed by features. full schedule for the Nutmeg State 75 on June 16 will be announced soon.

General admission at the Wednesday shows has been set at $30 for adults and $10 for kids ages 12 and under. Pit passes are $45 for adults and $25 for kids ages 12 and under. For those who can’t make it to the track, Speed51.TV will have a live pay-per-view broadcast with pricing to be determined.

Both the schedule and pricing are subject to change. Fans can get the latest updates at www.acttour.com/thompson-speedway or www.proallstarsseries.com.

“We can’t wait for these Wednesday events to begin,” ACT managing partner Cris Michaud said. “If the Outlaw Open Modified shows are anything like at the Icebreaker, all four Wednesday shows will be must-watch. The local divisions also had some great racing at the opener that we expect will continue all year. Thompson Speedway is an amazing track, and we’re excited to see what the rest of 2021 brings.”

  1. Why oh why just WHYYYYY does Thompson have to do 75/76 lappers. Please ohh please, just do one 100 lap GREEN only race or only one 125 lap race for June. Yes, I understand less laps and more money helps the teams but, as a fan, I am driving at least an hour and I still would like to see at least 100 laps for the Tour-Type mods, (maybe I am selfish). I know in 2007/2008 Thompson tried a 75 lapper for the NWMT and all they had were wrecks. I’d rather see a few more laps so it’s not as crazy. The price for admission is decent at $30, and I understand Thompson is trying to match the success of the 80 lappers Stafford has but, still, can Thompson go with at least 100? Maybe I am just greedy. I had a bad feeling there was going to be less Tour-Type modified laps for the feature, when on Thompson Speedway website, the feature lap amount was TBD. Thompson Speedway for the mods is still the best CT track.
