  1. FANTASTIC!!!!!

    Thank you Stafford and DPH!!!!!!

  2. This is great. I went to Walmart earlier this week and they had a sign saying walkins were welcome for COVID Vaccine. About a month ago the sign said you had to register online and the pharmacist could not make an appointment for you. Everyone who wants to get a vaccine can pretty much get one at this point. Convincing that last 20 percent is the issue. A program like this may help. Good for Stafford and their partner. The more people who get the vaccine the more people we can have in a public place.

  3. Younger folks are getting sick the most now. Not dying so much but really who needs getting sick if you can avoid it? It’s trench warfare now and you have to get the folks that have not prioritized it where they congregate and make it a can’t miss opportunity. Were I to have had my way the van would arrive at 3, pull in the paddock and make it super convenient for the race teams.
We’re starting to get into a really good place now especially in Ct which is just about as good a result as we could have hoped for a couple months ago. Infection rate 1.05% yesterday.
Pat yourself on the back if you did your bit for the cause. It’s the reason we’re getting to the good place now and why it won’t be much longer before capacity restrictions are loosened or even eliminated. Gotta keep the ball rolling

  4. Stuart A Fearn says

pretty cool news really. Go to the race track, grab a Broad Brook Double hook brewski first, get a quick shot during the heat race and then a free Hummel hot dog! A deal that cannot be beat.
Just another of the endless list of items SMS has done for the community in general while helping business and the racing in CT. Who led the way in writing the guidelines for ANYONE to get back to racing last year? SMS did. Who is the first track back and led the way in a COVID safe and responsible manner? That’s right, Stafford Motor Speedway and the Arute family. There are 5 Arutes plus many other loyal employees that make all this happen every feature event, each week, every year. A tremendous amount of blood, sweat, and tears go into making the magic happen and it doesn’t happen by mistake.
Enjoy the good times and support the track that is the leader in not only the state but in the country.

  5. 🌈🦄2020 says

Safe and responsible manner? Oh I think Dafella might have something to say about that. Speaking of which, what’s the over under on when he’ll be emerging from the basement?

  6. Wait….. free Hummel hot dog 🌭??????

    I missed that…. where????

  7. Great idea! The Yard Goats were offering a promo opening night. Get vaxxed, get four free tix to a future game.

It’s the best way to avoid the Noid and get the economy fully back to normal.

  8. 🌈🦄2020, I’m out just about everyday, weather permitting, bike riding. That would be 62 of the last 75 days. Have to take a rest day every once in a while for deep rehydration.

    You can’t touch this.

  9. 🌈🦄2020 says

“You can’t touch this” Nor would I want to Dafella. Nor would I want to. What if I don’t like hot dogs, will an alternative be provided?

  10. 2020 Stafford motor speedway is offering a FREE covid vaccination while you’re at the track and they’ll throw in a FREE hotdog if you would like one trying to help the pandemic. Asking for a substitute because “you don’t like hotdogs” is beyond greedy. It’s never enough. Even if meant as a joke it’s bad form sir.

  11. New CDC guidelines as of yesterday:
“Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing,” CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said during a White House briefing. “If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.”

May 19th. That’s the official date all restrictions are coming off Connecticut businesses with regard to outdoor events. Governor Ned Lamont says that’s because 72% of us have had at least on shot. For all intents and purposes this is the first race in quite some time where masks, safety and perhaps even capacity restrictions are not much of a factor at all. Lamont also did a promotion for Stafford of sorts in his briefing mentioning the vaccination van and free hot dog and encouraging people to take advantage of the program.
There is a growing controversy brewing however. Those already vaccinated complaining they should have the right to a free hot dog by showing their vaccination card. A rather pleasant controversy at this stage.

  12. Doug I don’t think I’d call a couple of chronic complainers a growing controversy. It’s the I’m owed something crowd that is truly bringing this country to it’s knee’s. I can’t fathom the pettiness of these people. It’s a freaking hotdog people.jeez.

  13. 🌈🦄2020 says

“I feel like I’m going to have to rewire myself so that when I see someone out in the world who’s not wearing a mask, I don’t instantly think, ‘You are a threat” – Rachel Maddcow. I agree with her. It’s going to take me at least a year to not run in the opposite direction when someone without a mask is walking towards me. Or when I’m at the track, constantly seeking out security to report on a non masked fan. I can only imagine what Dafella is going through in these difficult times.

  14. 🌈🦄2020, you can always inject/ingest bleach with a Lysol chaser, and a UV light up your whazoo, as promoted by the loser and former President Trump.

A business in Florida that was repackaging and selling bleach for this purpose was just shutdown. Wonder if it was near Mar-A-Lago?

  15. Dramabaga says

Finally talked myself into getting the shot. They asked for my ID, said I’m not a CT resident and turned me away????? 😮🤔

  16. masks optional says

    No thanks.

  17. Just Woke Up says

When I went for my vaccination they told me an ID was required before the shot was administered. If requiring a voter ID suppresses the minority vote, as all us woke people agree, wouldn’t it follow that requiring an ID for vaccination would suppress minorities from being vaccinated? (Asking for a woke friend)

  18. 🌈🦄2020 says

“No need to bring anything; ID or proof of insurance is not needed.” I may or may not have gotten my vaccine. And I may have needed an ID and proof of insurance to get it. How the heck did anyone that got the vaccine at the track tonight get their vaccination card without any form of ID?

  19. If anyone knows, I am curious how successful this event was. How many people actually got vaccinated. Not sure how you can get a vaccine without an ID, How do they track vaccination rates by state without it. Also if they are using anything other than JnJ you have to get a second shot 3 weeks later. When I got mine they had me sign up for the second appointment. Maybe not necessary now that there is more vaccine then demand. I know the NE Patriots today announced that anyone getting a vaccine could get a picture with one of the Lombardi trophies during a certain time today. They are now taking walk ins as well. That last 20 percent is going to be tough. Mass is fully open May 29th. Lets pack Seekonk. They got screwed last year.
