Last week the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour headed to Western Pennsylvania to run at Jennerstown (Pa.) Speedway, with Justin Bonsignore scoring victory at the .522-mile oval.

Saturday night the celebrations of a Northeast based driver at the Western Pennsylvania track continued, but this time in a Late Model.

Former Stafford Speedway regular Cory Casagrande of Stafford won the 75-lap Late Model feature Saturday at Jennerstown Speedway.

It was the first career victory at Jennerstown Speedway, a track that Casagrande has regularly talked about being one of his favorites.

“If I lived closer I’d probably want to run here weekly,” Casagrande told RaceDayCT. “It’s just an awesome place. It fits my driving style so perfectly. I’ve just adapted so well when we first came here two years ago. We pretty much showed up and we were good right off the bat today. I saved some stuff early and I was able to pass some guys late and run away with it.”

Casagrande will return to Jennerstown Speedway for the $10,000 to win Motor Moutain Masters Late Model event on Aug. 7.

“I’m thinking about just putting the car cover on the car and leaving it in the corner until then,” Casagrande said.
