STAFFORD – Alexandra Fearn served up revenge in the sweetest way possible Friday at Stafford Motor Speedway.

A week ago Fearn got knocked out of the lead by Rich Hammann with five laps remaining in the Limited Late Model feature at Stafford.

Friday night, with less than five laps left in the Limited Late Model feature, it was Hammann leading with Fearn stalking in second place.

With four laps to go Fearn made a diving moving under Hammann and came out of turn four with a lead she would hold for the rest of the way in winning the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature.

It was the third victory of the season for Fearn, of East Longmeadow, Mass.

“I just knew that if I kept it consistent and clean that it would pay off,” Fearn said. “You can’t win every race, I understand that. I wasn’t going to dump him, that’s just not what I do. So I think that it’s pretty satisfying that the patience and the consistency paid off.”

Hammann, of Tolland, was second and Matt Clement of Wethersfield third.

Fearn said stealing victory away from Hammann cleanly made the victory that much more satisfying.

“Every win I think is representative of all the work we do,” Fearn said. “It all just pays off and it feels really good to win in itself.

“Last week was very frustrating because I junked myself and unfortunately collected somebody in the heat race. We had to quickly get it together and come back for the feature, so I was all frazzled. The car was not straight or anything. I just wanted to complete all the laps. I ended up getting all the way up to the front, to my own surprise and probably to the surprise of everybody else, including the leaders. Last week sucked because we could have had it. I don’t like to go into the past, but it just stinks when you’ve got the whole week to think about that and you’ve got to come back.”

  1. Congrats to Alexandra and the #12 Fearn Motorsports team. For you to race the guy who dumped you clean, not only shows your talent behind the wheel, but also your confidence in yourself. Clean racing is good racing in my opinion, and I wish more drivers thought like you. An added bonus is knowing you beat them with your ability, not your bumper. Great job!👍👍

  2. Did you notice the turn one track level speed shot in turn one? Yes-sir-ee the top of the wall painted and looking good. The response to my suggestion a few weeks back no doubt. OK probably not and they were spiffing it up anyway for the big SRX show but surely my comment may have moved it up the list. Don’t buy that either do you. How about it shows both Stafford and myself share the same sense of tidiness. Come on man you can give me that can’t you?
Alexandra is in a class by herself this year in the LLM’s and Stuart Fearn has figured out what few others haven’t. Hamman has a really good car and the 12 hunted him down like a hound dog on the scent of an escaped convict. Time to think about getting what’s needed to make that “celebrity” car competitive and take the next step. She clearly has the skills and last week proved she can take a lickin and keep on tickin no matter how imprudent the boys get.
