Bobby Turner & Goodwin Hannaford Remembered
Westbrook, Maine’s Tony Ricci drove the famed Czarnecki Brothers # 20 modified to victory Saturday night (June) 19 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The win was Ricci’s first this season and his fourth with the Modified Racing Series. His last win was at Beech Ridge August 3, 2019.
The race was a 75-lap event in memory of Maine Hall of Fame members Bobby Turner and Goodwin Hannaford. Turner and Hannaford had a long relationship with the Scarborough racetrack. In victory lane Ricci dedicated his win to both men who recently passed.
Ricci fought off the challenges of, Donnie Lashua, Ryan Doucette, and Andy Shaw early on, and the late race charge of Brian Robie who started 17th in an 18-car field, to finish runner-up.
Rusty Poland, who had never driven a modified race car, finished third, Matt Swanson, fourth, and Kevin Ianarelli fifth.
Sixth through tenth were Jacob Perry, Chris Bolton, Shaw, Lashua, and Anthony Bello.
Jacob Perry and Ryan Doucette were the New England Race Fuel heat winners.

Shawn, would you happen to know how Tyler Barry finished? He was making his first start in grandpa Art’s tour type car. I’ll bet both Art and dad Ken were very proud of his effort no matter where he finished. Thanks
Earl,
He was 11th.
Thanks Shawn
