LOUDON, N.H. – Under threatening skies, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour hit the track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Saturday morning for practice in preparation for today’s Whelen 100.

Two-time series champion Justin Bonsignore led the way during the one-hour session with a fast lap of 28.905 seconds around the 1.058-mile oval.

Tommy Catalano checked in second fastest at 29.059 seconds and NASCAR Cup Series regular Ryan Newman was third at 29.069 seconds.

Cup Series regular and former Whelen Modfied Tour champion Ryan Preece was fourth in the session at 29.089 seconds with Jon McKennedy rounding out the top-five at 29.113 seconds.

Eric Goodale, series points leader Patrick Emerling, Craig Lutz, six-time series champion Doug Coby and Matt Swanson rouned out the top-10 in practice respectively.

Before the driver’s hit the track series director Jimmy Wilson, along with representatives from series sponsor Whelen, unveiled a new championship trophy that will be presented for the first time at the conclusion of the 2021 season.

“As well all know the last year and a half has been quite a challenge,” said Brandon Igdalsky, NASCAR managing director for Touring and Weekly Series. “One thing that hasn’t change and hasn’t wavered has been Whelen’s support of this series and their continued momentum to help us drive this series forward. I really want to thank Peter Tiezzi [Whelen general manager of motorsports and project manager] and his team for all they’ve done.”

50/50 chance of rain so with patience they may get a race in.
Sorry race pickers and with deference to the traveling man I’m moving the goal posts and setting my own rules for the contest which each and every one may disregard if he likes.

    Rules are

1 point if you pick the race winner
1 point if you pick the most drivers in the top 5
1 point for the person that gets the top 5 ORDER most correct EXCLUDING the winner.

    Tie breakers as before.
First tie breaker- person with the lowest FULL TIME TEAM in the NWMT 2021 points PROR to the race in the highest top 5 position
Second tie breaker-person with the second lowest FULL TIME TEAM in the NWMT 2021 points PRIOR to the race in the highest top 5 position

I may do a winner based on Jakes suggestion but did a few test runs and it produced a lot of ties since half the pickers chose Santos to win.
My view is picking the top 5 and order is as hard or harder then picking the winner. The sum of picking the three elements shows the greatest skill and not any one element for the purpose of this competition. If you pick the winner feel free to declare yourself a winner. I’m also eliminating the dark horse pick. Suffice it to say if you only make one pick and that driver was someone like Rameau or Mclaughlin you’re the winner and this will all go in the circular file.
We’ll see how it goes. Like the SRX series adjustments can be made if there is an encore and if that happens it would be nice to add a point for the pole winner.

  2. Liz Cherokee says

    Preece, Santos, Newman, Bonsignore, McKennedy

I’m hoping for a top 15 for Melissa. Go Girl Go!

  3. Congratulations to CSG for winning the competition under the above rules. Most drivers in the top 5 with three and came the closest in order with Preece, Bonsignor and Silk.
Liz Cherokee and Darealgoodfella tie for second picking the winner although Liz gets an at-a-girl for picking more drivers finishing in the top 5.
Honorable mention to Earl for also getting three of the top 5 just missing on the order with the 51 and 85.

  4. Liz Cherokee would have won were it not for the fact by the rules I excluded the winner from the closest order element. If she wishes to file a protest please contact WeldingWonders care of this message board.

  5. Well, well, well…

Look who picked Preece for P1. I’m right again.

    😝😝😝😝😝😝

Doug, you’re an idiot, and are not allowed to make rules.

Like I said, the winner was going to be someone that was long overdue. Hey Doug, I was right again.

    😝😝😝😝😝😝😝

  6. Liz wins using Jakes point system.

  7. Actually I’m thinking my system worked out pretty well rewarding folks with a broad range of knowledge vs a winner pick. If the most regard goes to Jakes suggestion of 3 points for the winner and on point for the most drivers picked in the top 5 Liz Cherokee wins.
It’s amusing Liz all this time has been a Fifield supporter but when it called for real knowledge of racing she beat us all.

  8. Doug, what exactly is a “broad range of knowledge” and who the hell are you to define it and judge it? You’re just making 💩 up, again.

    Idiot.

Doug, how will “1 point for the person that gets the top 5 ORDER most correct EXCLUDING the winner.” be judged? What the hell is “most correct”?

    😝😝😝😝😝😝

Your 3 outcomes were very different and have galactically different statistically possible outcomes, yet you weighted them equally. Galactically stupid.

Anyways, I think Liz should be disqualified. Entries should have been required before the start of practice. Liz was late and as a result had advantageous information. And Liz needs to be penalized for the Missy Top 15 pick.

  9. Doug you must have put up big bucks for this , I think he may be hiring old Rudy to take a look at the results , everyday he reminds me more of his uncle Donald

  10. I don’t know Elect. Is bad behavior the result of mimic or kindred spirits that prioritize rude behavior simply being what they are.
There’s a couple ways you can go in these deals. Put a little thought in constructing a model that will make predictions more fun. Or spend your time insulting, ridiculing and tearing it all down. Anyone was free to suggest the contest rules or make their own rules as I did. The choice was there days ago to be constructive or be a dumpster fire. Only one dumpster fire was set and the source completely predictable.
Suggesting Liz be disqualified because she was so successful is just pathetic. The proper response should be to congratulate her for the win using Jake’s rules.
What’s getting lost here is the race and the ending that was once again breathtaking. Any one of three cars could have won it, Preece did and I’m pretty well flabbergasted. Not that he outdueled the others at the end that’s what he does best. Being there at the end to do it. The car was great, all the calls and execution in the pits perfect and that’s what puts you in the position to win. There is something different this year about the 6. They put more money in to chassis’s and motors, have a newer shop as I understand it and while Ryan can’t prioritize modifieds with his demanding day job the people around him including Eddie Partridge seem to being taking it up a level this year.
It really is astounding that Preece who started the year with so many questions is where he is now. They will finish the Cup season and he’s had some great finishes. The very aggressive schedule outside of Cup that I thought was anticipating the early end of the Cup season remains in place and they still have their feet on the gas. Sure Preece won a race but aside from that this season has just turned out to be completely opposite or the depressing outlook last February.

CSG, you da man until next time! Thanks Doug, great idea for this! To the moaners and groaners; Doug’s idea, his contest, his rules! If all you want to do is moan and groan about the rules, either don’t play or make up your own game!

  12. Congratulations Liz ,!!! Fast ED I Believe It was My Idea and Call to Pick Contest Check the original speak your mind threads . Anyway . But’s it’s all Good … Glad people responded and had fun to the contest , we will do it again for the 300..

  13. It’s not a matter of rules… it’s a matter of statistics. It’s a fact that the 3 possible outcomes have dramatically, galactically different statistical possibilities. Giving them equal weighting was pure stooooooopid.

Giving a point to the winner and a point to the dark horse proved galactic stoooooooopidity. A winner is favored, a dark horse is a long shot. Way different odds, yet Doug assigns the same weighting. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

When you bet on the ponies, just bet on anything, it doesn’t matter. Idiots.

And picking 5 is another galactically very different outcome with extremely different odds.

But don’t worry, Doug assigned 1 point for all outcomes. Stupid is as stupid does, and did.

    😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝

What happened to the dark horse option? Doug seems to have just dropped that whole option. Why?

    😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝

It’s really hard picking races as this has proven with so many variables and the element of luck as well.
Suitcase Jake is the inspiration for this and a builder. I tried to build on his good idea. I posted the results from Jakes version as promised and mine as well.
I hope we can do it again and am prepared to take the withering criticism from some quarters in the process. You call the race Jake and I’m on board. A TTOMS race would be a challenge for sure.

Priceless… simply priceless. That narcissism has you talking about yourself again. Doug, ever pay attention to horse racing, keep it simple, just the famous races, like the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont? Notice how the odds are so very different for each horse? Do you have any idea why?

    🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

Doug wrote, “It’s really hard picking races as this has proven with so many variables and the element of luck as well.”

Just about anything is so very hard for you.

I picked Preece at Loudon. So did Liz, and she’s quite formidable, a real thinker.

  16. Congrats Liz, you outdid the mister modified of racedayct darealdaperfectone. And now the only thing for him to do is 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭.

Suitcase I apologize for not acknowledging you for the idea as well! It was fun seeing how we di against each other. CSG gets the “Expert at Picks” award, at least for now. Any interest in doing one for the upcoming SBM?

  18. Doug I guess you’ll have to tweek the rules a little , maybe age requirements , must be an adult no one under 12

  19. I should have done this before but here are the more complete results of the race pickers challenge.
First I’ll do Suitcase Jake’s. His called for 3 points to be awarded to whomever picks the winner, 1 point for picking the most drivers appearing in the top 5 and 2 points if your dark horse driver wins.

Number of drivers in the top 5 identified correctly. Asterisk for scoring the point.

Suitcase Jake: ………..Santos, Silk, Dowling, Coby, J. Bonn…………………..2
Fast Eddie: …………….Santos, Silk, McKennedy, Swanson, & Coby…………2
    Doug:…………………… J Bonsignor, Coby, Emerling, Santos, Cipriano……..1
Darealgoodfella: :……. Preece, Santos, Swanson, Emerling, Nocella………..1
    Earl: ………………………Santos, Silk, J Bon, McKennedy, Coby…………….3*
Getserious …………….. coby. santos, silk, bonsignore, and lutz………………2
Rafter fan ……………… Santos, Emerling, Bonsignore, Silk + Coby………….2
    CSG ……………………Santos, Preece, Coby,J Bon, Silk……………………….3*
    Liz……………………….Preece, Santos, Newman, Bonsignor, McKennedy….3*

Liz and Darealgoodfella each scored 3 points for picking the winner and Liz takes the trophy scoring the 1 point for picking 3 of the top five drivers whereas Darealgoodfella identified only 1 that being Preece.. Earl and CSG come in tied for third. The dark horse pick was never in play.
I don’t know if Liz took me seriously about taking picks right up to the last published comment before the race or if it just worked out that way. What she did was wait until 11:28 the morning of the race to make her picks and as you can see they were winners. Pretty impressive actually.
The way Suitcase Jake’s format turned out essentially ended up being a winner pick with the number of drivers in the top 5 being a tie breaker. I don’t favor that but if you want to keep it simple that’s probably the way to go in the future.

  20. So Doug, let’s see the tabulated results, using you rules. Let’s see your attempt at crunching numbers.

Let’s see the tabulated results of your three outcomes and how each participant did. Can’t wait to see how the dark horse calls went.

    Waiting…

    😝😝😝😝😝

  21. Doug, you must post the tabulated results so your arithmetic can be checked. You have demonstrated that you can not be trusted.

So post the tabulated results, and like in grammar school… show your work. You must show how each score was achieved per the rules.

Otherwise, you are simply spreading more 🐂💩.

  22. Next up is my format that awarding 1 point to whomever picked the winner, one point for the person picking the most drivers appearing in the top 5 and one point for getting the most drivers in the correct order excluding the winner.

Darealgoodfella- one point for the winner pick
Earl, CSG and Liz score one point for getting the most drivers appearing in the top 5 correct.
CSG scores one point for getting the most drivers in succession correct EXCLUDING the winner having chosen Preece, J Bon and Silk.

By the rules I set out above the final tally CSG 2, Darealgoodfella 1, Earl 1, Liz 1. No tie breaker needed. However I did make an error in excluding the winner from the correct order element of my model. Were that not the case Liz would have won this stock picking challenge as well having picked Preece, Bonsignor and McKennedy in succession with Preece in first beating CSG’s Preece in second.

If the commissioner calls for another contest I’d like to make the following pitch.

*exclude the dark horse. In this case it was never taken seriously with some ignoring it and others making multiple picks.
*someone suggested putting the pole winner in and I think that’s a great idea.
*I favor my model obviously. Mainly because it demonstrates a broader range of skill to pick drivers as well as get them in order. Jakes system with 3 points to the winner is so over weighted for the winner pick it makes it essentially a winner pick contest with the number of drivers in the top five a tie breaker. That’s fine if that’s all you want but for my money having more elements is a better opportunity to demonstrate a broader range of expertise in how drivers will perform and more fun.

I submit my amended version of a contest should the commissioner call for a second round.

1 point to anyone picking the winner.
1 point to any person identifying the most drivers appearing in the top five in any order.
1 point for the person getting the most drivers in succession correct in the highest order starting from the winner.
1 point to whomever picks the pole winner.

    Tie breakers
First tie breaker- person with the lowest FULL TIME TEAM in the NWMT 2021 points PROR to the race in the highest top 5 position
Second tie breaker-person with the second lowest FULL TIME TEAM in the NWMT 2021 points PRIOR to the race in the highest top 5 position

Final note: the record in this forum is pretty clear. Trying to get everyone to agree on anything here is like herding cats. Somehow Suitcase Jake herded we cats and got 9 people to join in and test their expertise in picking drivers with clearly defined bragging rights at stake. Hat’s of to Suitcase Jake for doing something no other person in this comment section has done before.
I should think that for all of we that came up short we’d like a second bite of this particular apple to redeem ourselves. I know I’m motivated to take it more seriously a second time around and hope.

  23. The amended rules are even more stupider.

What the hell do the tie-breaker rules even mean????

The factual statistical probabilities of the four outcomes are galactically different, yet Doug the Moron continues to assign equal weighting.

I can agree on everything that is factually correct. A fact denied is still a fact. Stupid opinions are stupid.

Next up, Doug the Moron is going to pitch his model to the horse racing industry and tell them all horses should have the same betting odds. Actually, Doug the Moron is going to tell them that odds don’t work and makes the arithmetic too hard. Doug the Moron would have no problem with Secretariat (in his prime) and some old nag ready to be euthanized having the same betting odds. Stupid is as stupid does.

Let’s not even get into trifectas, boxing, etc. That will blow Doug the Moron’s little mind.

    Too soon?

“Being right too soon is socially unacceptable.” – Robert A. Heinlein

    And proud of it.

  24. CORRECTION……….WeldingWonders has found an error in my tabulation and the revised finish for my race picker challenge as follows.

Darealgoodfella and Liz- one point each for the winner pick
Earl, CSG and Liz score one point for getting the most drivers appearing in the top 5 correct.
CSG scores one point for getting the most drivers in succession correct EXCLUDING the winner having chosen Preece, J Bon and Silk.

By the rules I set out above the final tally Liz 2, CSG 2, Darealgoodfella and Earl tied for third with one point each. This contest goes to the first tie breaker that being the person with the lowest FULL TIME TEAM in the NWMT 2021 points PROR to the race in the highest top 5 position. CSG still wins having picked Silk who was lower in the standings prior to the race to Liz’s McKennedy.
The point about my error in setting the rules and Liz’s picks is still valid. Were I to have included the winner in the order of succession element she would have won this challenge as well with 3 points to everyone else’s 1 point.

I know it’s convoluted and there were wrinkles. Personally I like the complexity and nuance but understand it may not be everyone’s cup of tea in the future.

  25. Doug wrote, ” *exclude the dark horse. In this case it was never taken seriously with some ignoring it and others making multiple picks.”

Think about it… the “dark horse” is the long odds car, just like the horse with the long odds. aka: galactically different weighting. Doug has no idea what that means, so it is better to exclude it and accommodate his limited ability, which appears to be simple addition of numbers less than 5. There were plenty of dark horse picks. Just say the rule is “Pick one dark horse”. But then, it looks really stupid to weight it the same as anything else, since it is clearly a very long odds proposition. Someone that picks a dark horse and wins should get far more points than someone that wins with a favored car. Again, you bet on a favored horse and win, little reward. If you bet on a long shot and win, HUGE reward. This model has been in use forever. Why try to reinvent air, water, fire, and ice?

Doug wrote, “*I favor my model obviously. Mainly because it demonstrates a broader range of skill to pick drivers as well as get them in order. Doug says that Jake’s 3 pt recommendation is so overweighted to the winner, well, that’s because all the other weightings are grossly out of line with reality… 1. How stupid is 1 and assigning 1 for all possible and galactically different outcomes?

Again, what the hell is “broader range of skill”????

  26. Thanks Jake and Doug, we should do this again for the next WMT race.

  27. Rules are going to change in 15 minutes… wait for new results.

Doug’s rules will change at any whim, to get his desired outcome. This is looking like Trump University Election Corruption 101.

    😝😝😝😝🤣🤣🤣😝🤣😝😝😝😝😝😝😝

  28. Doug wrote, “I know it’s convoluted and there were wrinkles. Personally I like the complexity and nuance but understand it may not be everyone’s cup of tea in the future.”

There’s no complexity and nuance. There is no possibility of complexity and nuance. This is absolutely stupid due to the FACT that the “weighting” has nothing to do with reality.

It’s about time for a new recalculation of “results” with finding new errors and interpretations of the current rules with some older rules.

And again in half an hour.

  29. Man. I knew I was bad, but my picks were so bad, I did not even make the list. Yikes!

Bobf I don’t know what to say except sorry. I missed your entry which is surprising since at the time I thought it was contained in a great analysis.

Number of drivers in the top 5 identified correctly. Asterisk for scoring the point.

As it turned out the dark horse was not a factor with regard to points. However your pick of Williams in the 99 turned out to be the best pick for the finish achieved as well as arguably having the least chance of any dark horse going in.

Bobby Santos III didn’t have the magic this time. Like I said, the team is running very infrequently, and that could be a factor. Perhaps a little rusty and cobwebs. I was right, again. More surprising to see he was out of the top 5, barely made a top 10. That rust and cobwebs I was talking about earlier.

  33. “Bayesian probability models”
“Bayesian networks are a type of probabilistic graphical model comprised of nodes and directed edges. Bayesian network models capture both conditionally dependent and conditionally independent relationships between random variables.”

Not that I understand it any better after reading the definition but learning it exists was instructive.

WeldingWonders has logged something in excess of 30 insults coming my way from Darealgoodfella related to the race pickers challenge. Being as objective as I can about it the answer seems fairly simple to me. Rather then wasting all that time and space saying what’s wrong with someone else’s idea’s simply outline the model you recommend for consideration by forum participants.
Should it prove to be the perfect model for race picking the accolades are sure to follow as the race pickers recognize it’s brilliance.

The dark horse is a wicked long shot and has a statistically infinitesimally nearly non-existing chance of happening. But when they do happen, they pay huge odds. Not the same odds as a favorite. So of course it is unlikely to happen, if it does, it will be a tiny fraction of how often the favored wins.

    Idiot.

Hey Dougie Dipwad, look at how the POWERBALL pays out with respect to number of balls correctly chosen. Makes you look like an idiot.

Liz, Bayesian stats is like 3D chess… this is primitive Venn diagram stuff, and Doug is showing he never graduated first grade. Just remember, you and I picked the winner. Don’t let them forget it.

  36. Thank’s for all who participated , I like to bring people together have fun and enjoyed Our First TOP 5 Picks Contest. We all have one thing in common, We love Modifieds & Racing… So I thought it would be Fun to have a R>D>Conn picks contest. For the rules of next Contest i would like …stay with the following SYSTEM
3 points for picking the Winner……………… 1 point for each car picked that finishes in the TOP 5
2 points for picking most cars that finish in top 5 …….
Dark Horse pick …. 5 points for a Winner that has NOT WON a TOUR RACE this YEAR….Or TRI-TRACK if it is a TRI – Track race that we pick next…. keep it simple… no pole points… the TIE BREAKER would be who had the most correct finishing order …. I originally wanted 1 point for each car that you picked in the TOP 5 , so if you had 3 picks in the top 5 you got 3 points for that… But i didn’t make it to CLEAR … The Dark Horse should pay a higher point TOTAL because it’s a FIRST TIME WINNER this year…. Thank you Doug ; for doing the tabulation’s , Sorry my First points SYSTEM was foggy… I think this system will be EASY for all involved and should be good at eliminating a-lot of ties……But As Commissioner of this TOP 5 PICK Challenge I am open for EVERYONE”S IMPUT…..
    POINTS SYSTEM;
3 – points for picking the Winner
1- point for EACH car picked in top 5
2- points for most cars picked in top 5
5- points for DARK HORSE Winner , pick a Driver that has NOT WON this year on the TOUR or TRI-Track Driver that has NOT WON this year…if it’s a TRI- Track Race….
Tie breaker ; goes the the person who had the finishing ORDER most correct of the TOP 5…. such as they picked the winner, and had 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th in the correct positions , The most picks in the correct finishing position ,,, that should end any ties….. I am thinking We can have the TOP 5 Picks Contest for the TOUR Races & TRI- TRACK Races & the Thompson 300..!!!! Let’s have some fun….!!!

  37. Thanks Doug.
Makes me feel a tic better. I at least I was a speed bump on my picks.
Secondly, I’d like to thank you for doing all the tabulations. It takes effort, and I for one, appreciated all the effort you put into it to keep it all straight. I certainly had fun with it anyways!

  38. Suitcase Jake “The Commissioner” nails it. 💥 🔨

    To clarify maybe 🤔,

“1- point for EACH car picked in top 5”, that would be any order?

“2- points for most cars picked in top 5”, that would be any order?

Love the DARK HORSE… most of us know there are a couple out there and once in a while they break through. Whoever wins that pick should get a pile of points.

Doug, why was that so hard for you? I practically spoon fed you and all you did was 🤮.

  39. OMG, I have never seen a bigger 😭 👶 in my life than dafella. Gets spanked by a women and he turns on the 💦 works. Finally decided to escape from the basement and wants to fight with everyone.

  40. Is this what you had in mind Suitcase Jake?

    Suitcase Jake: ………..Santos, Silk, Dowling, Coby, J. Bonn…………………..0 +2+0=2
    Fast Eddie: …………….Santos, Silk, McKennedy, Swanson, & Coby…………0 +2 +0=2
    Doug:…………………… J Bonsignor, Coby, Emerling, Santos, Cipriano……..0+1 +0=1
Darealgoodfella: :……. Preece, Santos, Swanson, Emerling, Nocella………..3+1+0=4
    Earl: ………………………Santos, Silk, J Bon, McKennedy, Coby…………….0+3+2=5
Getserious …………….. coby. santos, silk, bonsignore, and lutz………………0+2+0=2
Rafter fan ……………… Santos, Emerling, Bonsignore, Silk + Coby………….0+2+0=2
    CSG ……………………Santos, Preece, Coby,J Bon, Silk……………………….0+3+2=5
    Liz……………………….Preece, Santos, Newman, Bonsignor, McKennedy….3 +3+2=8
BobF……………………….Coby, Santos, Silk, Bonsignor, Lutz …………………0+2+0=2

Suggest you give that 5 point deal for the dark horse another look. 5 points is a lot especially for TTOMS where only two drivers have won Rameau and McKennedy. Are you sure you want to put 5 points in play for guys like Silk, Hirschman, Dowling, Williams who are not normally considered dark horses in the true sense?

“See, I was right. Even Earl can finally get it.”
“wmass01013, you were correct when you addressed me as “genius”.
“Hey Doug, I was right again.”
Doug… you see that???? Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful, hate me because I’m beautiful and smarter than you.

    STARRING DAREALGOODFELLA

THE 2021 DAREALGOODFELLA INSULT COUNTER DAY 200

410 Doug, you’re an idiot, and are not allowed to make rules.
411 And Seuss… what can be said? Is he an idiot?
412 A dive bomb move is hard enough to pass one car, but to repeatedly try to pass multiple cars? Idiot. (Andy Seuss)
413 Idiots one and all. (Unspecified NWMT drivers at Loudon)
414 The 54 took out one of my favorite cars. Idiotic. (Catalano)
415 Lots of equipment and idiot attrition.(Unspecified NWMT drivers at Loudon)
416 You’re (Doug) just making (vulgar emoji) up, again.
417 Galactically stupid. (Doug’s racing picking point system)
418 Giving them equal weighting was pure stooooooopid. (Doug’s race picking point system)
419 Giving a point to the winner and a point to the dark horse proved galactic stoooooooopidity. . (Doug’s racing picking point system)
420 Way different odds, yet Doug assigns the same weighting. Stupid, stupid, stupid. . (Doug’s racing picking point system)
421 When you bet on the ponies, just bet on anything, it doesn’t matter. Idiots
422 But don’t worry, Doug assigned 1 point for all outcomes. Stupid is as stupid does, and did.
423 That narcissism (if Doug) has you talking about yourself again. It’s amazing how easy it was to lead you down a dead end alley, dead end because you had no idea what you were getting into.
424 Just about anything is so very hard for you.(Doug)
425 Otherwise, you (Doug) are simply spreading more (vulgar emoji) .
426 The amended rules (by Doug) are even more stupider.
427 Doug the Moron continues to assign equal weighting.
428 Stupid opinions (by Doug) are stupid
429 Next up, Doug the Moron is going to pitch his model
430 Actually, Doug the Moron is going to tell them that odds don’t work and makes the arithmetic too hard.
431 Doug the Moron would have no problem with Secretariat (in his prime) and some old nag ready to be euthanized having the same betting odds
432 Stupid is as stupid does.
433 That will blow Doug the Moron’s little mind.
434 Doug has no idea what that means, so it is better to exclude it and accommodate his limited ability,
435 How stupid is 1 (In Dougs point system) and assigning 1 for all possible and galactically different outcomes?
436 Doug’s rules will change at any whim, to get his desired outcome. This is looking like Trump University Election Corruption 101.
437 This is absolutely stupid (Doug’s point system) due to the FACT that the “weighting” has nothing to do with reality.
    438 Doug the Moron wrote
    439 Idiot.(Doug)
440 Hey Dougie Dipwad, look at how the POWERBALL pays out with respect to number of balls correctly chosen. Makes you look like an idiot.
441 Doug is showing he never graduated first grade.
442 You (Doug) sure aren’t lighting the place up with any brilliance, that’s for sure.
443 You clearly do not have the means to execute such an idea,

TOTAL INSULTS IN 2021 THROUGH DAY 200……………………………443

NEW TRAUNCH OF INSULTS SINCE DAY 198……………….…………..44

AVERAGE INSULT COUNT PER DAY THROUGH DAY 200.. …………2.22

PROJECTED INSULT TOTAL FOR 2021 BASED ON 2.22/DAY…………810

FIRST PLEA ON RACE DAY AT 5.08 PM

    July 17, 2021 at 5:08 pm
    Well, well, well…
Look who picked Preece for P1. I’m right again.

    Golly!!!!! I was right again!!!!!

PLEA NUMBER 3 TO HAVE LIZ CHEROKEE DISQUALIFIED CLEARING THE WAY FOR HE TO BE THE ONLY ONE TO PICK PREECE

    darealgoodfella says
    July 17, 2021 at 8:11 pm
Anyways, I think Liz should be disqualified. Entries should have been required before the start of practice. Liz was late and as a result had advantageous information. And Liz needs to be penalized for the Missy Top 15 pick.

PLEA NUMBER 4 THE FOLLOWING DAY AT 9:35 AM.

    darealgoodfella says
    July 18, 2021 at 9:35 am
    Well, well, well…
Preece won. I picked Preece to win. I was right again. Like I said, it was going to be someone that was overdue.

PLEA NUMBER 5 WANTING RECOGNITION FOR BOBBY SANTOS FINISH

    darealgoodfella says
    July 18, 2021 at 9:35 am
Bobby Santos III didn’t have the magic this time. Like I said, the team is running very infrequently, and that could be a factor. Perhaps a little rusty and cobwebs. I was right, again. More surprising to see he was out of the top 5, barely made a top 10. That rust and cobwebs I was talking about earlier.

    PLEA NUMBER 6
    😷😷😷 darealgoodfella 😷😷😷 says
    July 19, 2021 at 2:45 pm
Liz, Bayesian stats is like 3D chess… this is primitive Venn diagram stuff, and Doug is showing he never graduated first grade. Just remember, you and I picked the winner. Don’t let them forget it

  43. Jake, I am good with your rules as stated.

Only thing that I would respectfully request is we set a timeframe for picks to be entered. I would suggest it be after the entry list is posted and prior to practice and qualifying. We would need the entry list posted on the thread so everyone has equal access to it when making their picks.

  44. Doug, you are the only idiot that would consider Hirschman, Silk, Williams, and Dowling as a Dark Horse. A marquee driver can not be a Dark Horse, you idiot. I was going to tell you to think, but then caught myself.

  45. It’s pretty clear I’m not a fan of the dark horse pick and out of step with most of the race pickers.
I think we all know who the favorites are in most races and can slot them accordingly. Dark horse interpretation can get a little sketchy at times. In the first challenge Jake picked Rameau, Eddie Picked Nocella and Emerling, Earl McLaughlin, Bobf Williams in the 99 all truly dark horse picks. CSG picked mother nature, I Chick Stockwell and others no pick at all.. Darealgoodfella went in the other direction and picked drivers that were favorites as well as traditional dark horses and picked a lot with Silk, JBon, Kobe, McKennedy, Sapienza.
I guess my point is there is a wide range of interpretation for what a dark horse pick is with great potential to manipulate the system. If we were doing the race Saturday would you be good with folks picking McKennedy for the win and Hirschman for the dark horse and is that in the spirit of the challenge?
Apologies to Getserious as well as Bobf. Getserious was actually the third person to pick Preece for the win that I recorded incorrectly as Coby. His picks were “Preece, Coby, J Bon, Goodale, and how about Woody for top five?”. Liz still wins but well done Getserious for your pick and apologies for missing it.
Clearly I did not do a good job at all with too many errors but will try to do better if given a chance in the second round. I’ll stick to a strictly a book keeping roll, double down on accuracy and let the commissioner manage rules and rule interpretation. Speaking of that is Tri Track Saturday on the table for a second round?

  46. Doug, this whole pick ’em deal was Suitcase Jake’s idea, not yours. You jump in and try to take over, and judge, judge, judge. You are desperate for involvement and control. You do as you are told, you are not in a position to take it over from Jake and do what you want with it. You are showing your deep narcissism when you try to do so. There’s so much you don’t understand, just do as you are told.

And learn how to do simple arithmetic. 😝😝😝🤪🤪🤪

Suitcase Jake is “The Commissioner” and calls the shots.

  47. Fair enough Darealgoodfella I shall respect your wishes and withdraw from any involvement in this other then making picks. It’s probably for the best since I didn’t do a very good job anyway. I’m sure Jake can count on you to help out if needed.
    Cheers!

So I’m looking at the Connecticut reopening phases.
Phase 2 to start approx June 20, outdoor events up to 50 people.
Phase 3 at least 4 weeks after June 20, outdoor events up to 100 people.
Um, 4 weeks after June 20 is the end of August. I doubt Phase 4, if there is a Phase 4, will go to several thousand or unlimited people at events.
There are no indications for large crowd gatherings (>100 people) after August.

FOUR WEEKS AFTER JUNE 20 IS THE END OF AUGUST?????????
NOW WHAT WAS THAT AGAIN ABOUT LEARNING SIMPLE MATH?????

  49. Yes . WE will have fun, You will be Happy, Yes 1- point for EACH car picked in top 5”, that would be any order 3 picks in top 5 is 3 points

Yes “2- points for most cars picked in top 5”, that would be any order of finish , 4 cars in top 5 would be 2 points for most cars in top 5.
Get your picks in before practice or Qualifying once we have roster or entry list. I think Doug is great at pulling all the points & picks together so Hopefully He would continue this important job for Us…..I am not a Computer whiz, so who ever has been posting the entry list roster , Please continue that for US also. Tri- Track race at Star 125 is next race that we should do the TOP 5 Pick em Contest . good Luck Men & Ladies , See if Liz can mix up a top 5 concoction that beats all the Men again….. Send in your picks on next Tri- Track Article and let the picks begin..

  50. Hmmm….. Tri-Track is not good at posting an early entry list. We might have to play a little loose with this one.

Doug is not a computer whiz, he’s not even any good with arithmetic. Look how many times he had to correct his own work with small numbers and simple addition.

Look at all those other screen names Doug uses for all that extra attention. He’s so sad 😞.

This is Jake’s idea so he’s the honorary commissioner as far as I’m concerned. My vote would be to change anything you like any time you like right up to a reasonable time before the race for your pick to clear moderation and be published.

DOUG PLANTS THE WORD COMMISSIONER IN DAREALGOODFELLA’S HEAD. SIX DAYS LATER DAREALGOODFELLA USES IT TO MOCK THE PERSON WHO PLANTED IT IN HIS HEAD. IT’S JUST TOO EASY.
