When is the rain date? Forecast keeps getting worse for 7/17.
I’m guessing the pick of Santos to win would be made on a couple things. His success with Sapienza in the two Muskets and the Northeast Classic win at NHMS in April that was the Tinio’s first race back I believe after taking the break.
It seems like a tall order for the 44. The Northeast Classic only had 11 cars and no 10, 51, 85 and this year apparently the 07 to content with. If he can pull it off after that embarrassing performance in the SRX series, that didn’t seem embarrassing at the time but now does after Fenhaus’s success, it will surely be a booster shot to his mystique for all you Northeast Santos fans.
It’s just too hard picking these races in my view. I will say that the cream will rise to the top meaning it will be Coby or Bonsignor because they are the best teams in every respect with the Stuart team just a tick off on the big track.. Emerling’s the guy to watch to see if he can once again outperform and prove this year is no fluke.

Saturday I was putting hour meters on the two zone pumps for the boiler that supplies heat to two apartments. Being older I had the shaky hands deal going at times and reflected on how much more frustrating tasks are now well past my prime. Being especially aware of that double checking my work for errors. Nonetheless come winter it will all be worth it as I will have a tool to gauge relative heating oil consumption by unit.
I don’t know why my errors are so important to you Darealgoodfella but you sure do seem to enjoy harping on them. I have more good news for you. As I get older there will be more similar obvious errors and they will appear more frequently. Unlike installing hour meters I won’t always be double checking my entries for errors. It’s not that important and I kind of get a chuckle out or them myself. Between errors I’ll probably make some good observations that don’t involve demeaning people and integrating vulgar emoji’s in comments in the process and that will be good enough for me anyway.
I was reading Jake’s write up for the Late Model race at Thunder Road that I will be viewing on FloRacing come Thursday. It was yet another terrific capsule of a track and now I have Ryan Kuhn to watch along with Ryan Preece.
I don’t do well at these predictions but out of respect for the traveling mans enthusiasm and great commentary I will fall in line and do my bit as well as keep track of the results should people decide to try their hand.

The Nocella and Emerling cars have been showing up loaded for bear. Hard to bet against Santos, but I have my doubts about the 44 team being so very part-time. Hopefully Preece will no longer be snake-bit, he’s had some crazy bizarre bad luck. The ❸ is well past due. Doubt the McKennedy car will last, he deserves too much better. The Stuart car just hasn’t been impressive, too bad for Silk. Just added Sapienza… clearly has the cars, all he needs to do is follow Santos around and do the last lap thing.

Thanks to Suitcase Jake and his infectious enthusiasm for suggesting this which I believe is a first as far as a structured competition with a respectable number of participants. 7 so far and hopefully more to come.
If it is a competition then it seems only right to have a bragging rights trophy. The only way to do that is to have a means of determining a winner. My suggestion would look something like this.
1 point to whomever picks the winner
1 point to whomever has the highest number of top 5 finishers correct in any order.
1 point to whomever picks the dark horse winner. Only those with one dark horse choice to be considered.
First tie breaker- person with the lowest driver in the NWMT 2021 points PROR to the race in the highest top 5 position
Second tie breaker-person with the second lowest driver in the NWMT 2021 points PRIOR to the race in the highest top 5 position.
What Bobf said… it’s Loudon and that presents a very different set of hazards. As crazy as it sounds, the 01 has had its best race result at Loudon, and the track has mercilessly humbled many great drivers. But as Bobf said, crap happens and then gets sprayed and splashed at others. As big as this track is, it is so very hard to stay out of the trouble of others. Idiocy leaves a wide and long wake. Unlike a bullring where idiocy happens in a fraction of a blink of an eye, idiocy goes in slow motion at Loudon.
There are no numbers to crunch for Doug. It requires basic intelligence, such that a person knows east from west, and west from east. There is a technique, but it is far out of the reach of Doug. Doug is an idiot and will just make 💩 up, and declare it is right because of apparent profound passive aggressive narcissism. And people willingly followed Hitler, Mussolini, and other dick-taters. I’ll continue to do what I can to protect you from Doug and his other screen names.
Anyways, it looks like Mother Nature is going to be in total control at Loudon. Anybody know the rain contingency plans? One year, long ago, I had to drive up more than once before the race happened.

This is Jake’s idea so he’s the honorary commissioner as far as I’m concerned. My vote would be to change anything you like any time you like right up to a reasonable time before the race for your pick to clear moderation and be published.

Those three potential outcomes have galactically different statistical possibilities, but Doug gave them equal weighting. Only an idiot would do that. Everyone that was smart enough to know the direction a location was from his house would know that.

We had a fantasy modified series on the old modified series scene website or maybe it was the chrome horn website. Perhaps it was a group from those sites who ran it I dont recall. Anyway It was a lot of fun kept me more interested in the tour back then. We had pole winner then top 5 finish. I think I was fortunate enough to win or come in second one year. I think there was nominal entry fee like 10 or 20 bucks for the year that was divided up for the top 3 finishers. Be much easier to administer now with Paypal and venmo.

Bob agree with you. I figure in or out on the picks, it will still be fun to see how it works out. I don’t know about your top five theory. Too many times I’ve seen the top 5 on the back stretch looking very different at the finish line. And yes, I’m in for doing picks on a race-by-race basis.
