Since I was not there to witness the altercation, I would have to agree with Stafford and the penalties levied since they had all the facts to make a final determination.

Enough of bashing Ronnie, where do you think Narducci is getting his money??? Ever wonder why he’s not in a Chassis Pro SK or Bear’s SK? If Rocco keeps him in a ride there will be another altercation.

347 respondents so far and precious few of us have a good grasp of what happened. Inkling is more like it. All kinds of inklings and conclusions drawn based on bias for or against drivers. Of course Stafford came to the right conclusion, they had all the facts and talked to all the parties and witnesses. You can’t compare inklings to that.
Lick your wounds you three transgressor’s and move on. There are a lot of races left to run and podiums to mount.
People arrive at wrong conclusions all the time. Take Doug for example.
Facts mean nothing when bias is in play. There’s plenty of bias here.
The Stafford decision might be completely wrong 😑, or it may be correct.
But we all know that Doug and all his other screen names are wrong, wrong, and wrong.

It breaks down to this; Ronnie was suspended for entering Brian’s pit. Keith was suspended for clocking Ronnie. Brian was suspended because the driver is responsible for his teams behavior. If you ask me Brian got the short end of the stick.
I think the way Stafford handed out penalties was more of a penalty for the fans rather than the drivers involved. On any given week there are 10 to 12 drivers who can win the SK Modified feature. If most fans are like me, they won’t even attend the races unless the Modifieds are running. Given that they’ve barred 2 of the best drivers, and a good up and comer, the quality of the field for the next SK Modified race will be diluted. I believe they should have taken points away from the drivers instead of barring them from action. I’ll bet many other fans will agree with me on this.
What is with this invisible fence crap around pit stalls? We used to go to any other pit, and many other people used to come into our pit. It was all good times. You idiots are supposed to be mature adults.
Since when did pit stall borders happen? This looks more childish than an elementary school yard turf war.

These idiots are not above the rules. Take ’em down a few pegs and let them know who makes the rules. Kroc needs to abide by the rules since access to the track is his bread & butter. If the idiots are allowed to run the pits, then it will turn into anarchy with dozens of mini turf wars, all battling for dominance. Idiots.

I think the drivers put Stafford in a sticky situation, but I also know that tension builds up week after week and it usually blows up at some point, whether it is on the track or in the pits. I agree that Stafford did the best they could with these penalties, but it does make me wonder if it was enough to deter other drivers/crews from doing something similar. A week off, especially if you’re not in the running for a championship or maybe if you’re a part-time driver/team, is not really a big deal. The same night this happened, we were walking through the pits and could hear Pat Kretschman and the Bennett team in a screaming match. I’m not sure if Pat kept his distance from the pit stall because he wanted to obey the “rule” or if he is just smart enough to keep his distance from a crybaby who can’t ever be wrong. It was good to hear that it never got physical.. but now everyone will expect that if it does get physical for some reason, the only real repercussions will be that you have a week off of racing there.
Side note – Shawn, I was curious about the points standings this year. I was told that Stafford is taking off everyone’s worst finish. That obviously won’t include Rocco/Williams/Narducci’s week off, but it seems like that could have a big impact on the current points standings. Just knowing how the Late Models have been this year, almost everyone has had a minimum of one bad week besides Michael Wray. If you take out Gray’s worst week, he would be winning in points. On the flip side, I believe it would increase Kopcik’s lead, but I could be wrong. Are you able to confirm if they are, in fact, dropping each driver’s worst finish?

My understanding is that yes they will be dropping the worst finish. I think at some point later in the season they will start publishing two sets of points with full points and also points reflecting the drop race.
Several people here and on social media have commented about the danger of some team provoking another for the purpose of getting their adversary a week off. I suppose it’s possible but not likely someone would concoct a nefarious scheme to do such a thing. First race teams have enough to do getting their cars to go faster. Most of all they aren’t strategic planners of such things. Confrontations are the result of things that have happened that got someone fired up. Not cold blooded tactical moves to prevent a driver from racing at some point in the future. Look at the record. How often has this happened?
Not surprised Bennett got in a rhubarb. Seemed like he was spinning every few laps and apparently he was not an innocent victim every time. We like shouting. It’s part of the emotion of racing and completely normal. It’s when Mr. Fist comes out that’s the problem.
