STAFFORD – Usually a visit into the wall at Stafford Speedway spells the end of the night for a driver at Stafford Speedway.

For Alexandra Fearn Friday at Stafford a brush with the backstretch wall just proved to be the fireworks to kick off a victory celebration.

Fearn got through a last lap encounter with the backstretch wall and held off Jeremy Lavoie through the final two corners to win the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature Friday at Stafford Speedway.

It was the fourth victory of the season for Fearn, of East Longmeadow, Mass, the division’s points leader.

“I really really wanted this,” Fearn said. “Backstretch, hit the wall, I really wanted it. That would be my bad. Sorry. That was the only side of the car that was completely untouched. But it is what it is. I’m just really happy that we get to be back here.”

Lavoie, of Windsor Locks, was second and Devon Jencik of Canton third.

Fearn got under Lavoie on lap 18 and the pair went side-by-side to the start/finish line with Fearn clearing him for the lead off of turn two on lap 19.
