Justin Bonsignore Leads The Way In Whelen Mod Tour Practice At Stafford

It’s the beast Justin Bonsignore wants so badly to slay: Stafford Motor Speedway

In 39 career Whelen Modified Tour starts Bonsignore is winless at the historic half-mile.

Tonight he makes his 40th in the GAF Roofing 150.

And the day started well for the Holtsville, N.Y. driver and two-time series champion.

Bonsignore led the way in practice for the Whelen Modified Tour Friday at Stafford.

Bonsignore set a fast lap of 18.719 seconds (96.159) to set the pace in practice.

NASCAR Cup Series regular Ryan Preece of Berlin was second to Bonsignore at 18.728 seconds (96.113 mph).

Six-time Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby of Milford was third fastest at 18.729 seconds (96.108 mph).

Eric Goodale of Riverhead, N.Y. (18.786 seconds, 95.816 mph) and Jon McKennedy of Chelmsford, Mass. (18.836 seconds, 96.562 mph) rounded out the top-five in practice respectively.

Matt Swanson, Ronnie Williams, Tyler Rypkema, Ron Silk and Kyle Bonsignore made up the remainder of the top-10 respectively in practice.
