Are we being insulted with the Newhart character reference?
First being grouped with a guy that is actually in the paddock at Stafford and does know what’s going on as well as one of the best contributors to this forum is company I’m honored to be part of.
Larry, Darryl and Darryl were beloved characters on the Newhart show and a key to it’s success. In fact Newhart is one of the greatest TV shows of all time and really took off after Julia Duffy was added as Stephanie my favorite character.
The show is timeless, good even now with the New England backdrop.
I love Larry, Darryl and Darryl and they did end up doing very well for themselves in the show rap up Landing three vintage 1980’s big hair hotties from Long Island of all places.

And add to that, I think bob newhart himself, was the absolute master in having a phone conversation on stage, with no one at the other end of the line. Facial expressions, partial stammers on purpose, that guy excelled at that. Great show.

Steve, Shaun is correct 9 pm is listed on NBC grassroots. You can watch the local races on Flo racing for a fee. If you dont have FLO keep an eye on race monitor which will give you an indication if they running behind or early.. Here is the schedule posted by Stafford.

I was cleaning out a tenants drain and it’s tough in this old house with drain pipes a conglomeration of galvanized steel, PVC and copper pipe. You never know where the yucky stuff is so you end of probing all over to break the obstruction. I was thinking of you Darealgoodfella when I was doing it. No one knows where you are and your resemblance to a drain pipe obstruction is uncanny.
On the Newhart show there was a character at the start that ended up leaving the show early. His name was Kirk, an insecure, self important slug of a person, with no character and perpetually shallow. His over compensation for his character flaws was supposed to be funny but in the end he was just sad.
You’re Kirk Darealgoodfella and interestingly Larry Darryl and Darryl bought Kirks diner and replaced him.

I picked the winner. I was right again.
Did you now. I think it’s more a case of a guy out of breath running to the front of the parade to pretend he is leading it. You have to play to win. Liz entered the contest, won for the second time and did it fairly impressively in the process.
In this race all the Pick-em contestants did well identifying the top five very successfully after four of us did a very poor job in the last outing. Some of us that picked Silk must have gotten a little jazzed seeing him pop up in the top 5 after struggling for most of the race. That’s an extra element of entertainment courtesy of the Pick-em contest.
Hopefully there is interest in the future to continue Suitcase Jake’s Pick-em. On a personal note if you want to stand on the sidelines claiming to lead the parade Darealgoodfella that would be ideal in my view.
