Fresh off a second-place finish last time on the track at Stafford Motor Speedway, Stan Mertz Racing and driver Woody Pitkat are ready to get back to work this weekend. The team will head back to Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, New Hampshire, for the fourth round of the season for the Tri Track Open Modified Series.

Last time at Monadnock, on May 1, Pitkat wheeled the No. 6 Twisted Tea/Truly Hard Seltzer machine to a seventh-place effort. Since then, Pitkat finished inside the top-10 at Star Speedway in May, and struggled at Star Speedway with a broken motor and had to borrow another ride to compete in the race in the last two Tri Track events.

Overall, the team looks to carry momentum from Stafford into Monadnock and improve their package with the ultra-competitive Tri Track circuit and get back to Victory Lane.

“We found some gremlins last time on the track that we never had the chance to see at Star Speedway because of our motor issue,” Pitkat said. “We’re hoping all of the bad is behind us now and we will have a car that will be able to stay under me for the race. As long as we have something to work with like we had at Stafford, it should be good. We are going to monadnock with some better notes and a better plan and hopefully we will be good.”

Sponsors of the team include Twisted Tea, Truly Hard Seltzer, Axis Engineering Group, Black and White Grille (Spencer, MA), TowBoatUS, Cape Towing & Salvage, J&S Motors, Pomfret Wine & Spirits, Mike Holmes & Son Excavating, Earnest Performance Shocks & Kenneth Blackmer Transport.

No entry list I could find but the above gives us a good idea of who is likely to be at Monadnock especially those that have been in all three events. Make your picks and they can be revised up until the last moderation before the race.

    My picks.

    Rameau

    Wild card – Dowling

  4. CSG picks

60, 16, 79, 06, 06ma wildcard 3 if he qualifies if not 92 if he doesnt qualify I will skip it

    thanks for doing this.

  5. Doug, I see people picking McKennedy. Is there confirmation he will be there? No entry list out that I can find. Thanks

  6. Eddy……..06,79,60,75,6…………………3
    Doug……..16,60,25,00,6…………………..
    Earl……….00,16,60,06ma, 06………Dowling
    CSG……..60,16,79,06,06ma…………3/92

My list is based on nothing more then the points standings. I know McKennedy wasn’t at the first race at Monadnock. All we really know based on this article and social media is Woody will be there and Tyler Barry is driving the 4 I believe has been driven by TJ Bleau.
Based on updated information feel free to change anything you like and I’ll record the change.

  7. Thanks Doug, I’ll snoop around and see if I can find anything. If I do will let everyone know.

  8. TOP 5 PICK”EM POOL >>>>>>>>…………..TRI-TRACK MAD DOG >>>>>>
    1. 79
    2. 60
    3. 16
    4. 9
    5. 06
Wild Card / First Time Winner 25 NH Robie

  9. Before I picked McKennedy I checked to see if ISMA was running. They have the week off. I didnt realize ISMA was running Claremont next Friday. Its kind of a crap shoot with these opens. I picked Christopher at Stafford a couple weeks ago. He was on the entry list, was there with the SK but I guess the mod was on its way to Lancaster which if I thought of it made sense.

Pretty good SK race tonight at Stafford. Was pulling for the T Owen hat trick but nice to see Kid Roc back in victory lane.

  10. Doug
    Hirschman
    Williams
    Silk
    Hinkley

Stayed away from the 79 only because I’m not sure if he will be there.
I gotta go with Robie as a true wild card if that is acceptable.
Thanks for keeping track Doug. Appreciated!

  11. You’re missing one Bobf and the Wild Card if you want to play it.

  12. You know if you want you can check the entries on Race Monitor at the early practice. If the time on your comment is before the first heat no need to lose a slot because someone didn’t show up.

  13. Oops! Sorry Doug!

    Hirschman
    Williams
    Silk
    Hinkley
    Bonsignore

    Robie as wild card. Thanks!

    Jake……….79,60,16,9,06……………….25nh
    Bobf………60,25,16,06,00……………….25nh

Good turn out but more would be better.
If the Wild Card rule is has not won in the series previously Dowling as a three time winner doesn’t qualify for consideration.
This deal with sketchy entry list information is going to be a problem at times. Practice starts at 2:30 and the racing at 5:30. Seems to me if anyone wants to replace a pick that didn’t show it’s fine as long as the comment time stamp is 5:30 or before. I’d suggest limiting it to just drivers that didn’t show up and the specific spot in the pick order to avoid any appearance of using lap times to gain an advantage at the last minute.

  15. I don’t know if I should be doing this but you could swap the 00 and Dowling Earl to stay within the rules and not lose anything. Bonsignor has not won a Tri Track Event.

  16. Suitcase Jake updated picks . I don’t see McKennedy at the track.practice .
    I will swap the 06ma for the 79 , 1
    1. 06ma Rameau
    2. 60
    3. 16
    4. 9
    5. 06 Hinckley
    Wild Card/ First time Winner
    25 NH Robie

  17. Csg updated picks. Rumor has it the 79 no showed. Only 27 car.

    60 16 25 06 06ma same wildcard.

Enjoy the race. I wally wouldn’t mind seeing Hinckley win one.

  18. In a practice I’m seeing 26 cars with everyone present in the picks except McKennedy.

  19. Very nice update Doug. Ty.

  20. Hey Doug, sorry about that couldn’t remember about Dowling. I will take Pasteryak for the wild card.

  21. Fast Eddie says

Last minute sub if not too late. Replace mckennedy with cipriano. Thanks!

  22. Eddy……..06,79,60,75,6…………………3

    CSG……..60,16,25,06,06ma…………3/92
    Jake………79,60,16,9,06………………25nh
    Bobf………60,25,16,06,00…………….25nh

  23. 9ct,60,00,25,25nh

    Eddy……..06,50c,60,75,6………..(3)—0+1+0
    Doug……..16,60,25,00,6…………—–0+3+1
    Earl……….00,16,60,06ma, 06….(75)–0+2+0
    CSG……..60,16,25,06,06ma……(3/92)–0+2+0
    Jake………79,60,16,9,06………(25nh)–0+2+0
    Bobf………60,25,16,06,00……..(25nh)-0+3+1-WINNER!!!!

Bobf wins it on the tie breaker getting the 60 and 25 in the closest sequence of finish with the 60 in the highest position of finish.
    Congratulations Bobf!

  24. Thanks Doug! Better to be lucky than good!
That one was kind of fun because there was so many similar picks of the top 5. A guy left out, and a guy put in here or there. To bad the 79 wasn’t there. I’m sure that would have made for some interesting results!
