Patrick Emerling already had a busy Sunday scheduled for this weekend at the Sunoco World Series at Thompson Speedway.

The Orchard Park, N.Y. driver will make a little bit busier with the addition of a big event for Saturday also.

Emerling, who recently finished second in the 2021 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour standings, will run the No. 91 Hartwell Motorsports ride in Saturday’s American-Canadian Tour feature at Thompson Speedway.

It will mark the second career ACT start for Emerling. He ran an event for Hartwell in 2014 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT.

“It’s really exciting,” Emerling said. “It was just kind of a last minute deal. [Hartwell Motorsports] was looking for a driver. That’s pretty cool. They have a pretty good track record there so that’s pretty exciting for me.”

Running full fendered rides is hardly foreign to Emerling. He made two starts this year on the NASCAR Xfinity Series for former Whelen Modified Tour team owner Chris Our.

“I think it’s just going to come down to trying to figure it out in practice and watch a little video,” Emerling said of his preparation for Saturday’s event. “The fendered cars run a little bit different around there from what I recall, you know line-wise at times. It’s something to just do a little research and kind of feel it out when we have practice.”

Emerling will run the Thompson 300 Sunday at Thompson for team owner Ted Anderson.

    Chicken Coop,

Woody is running the #07MA Summit Ice car for the ACT Tour feature. As far as I know, he’s still in the Hartwell car for the local Late Model event.
