Tri-Track Open Modified Series Returning To Monadnock Speedway For April Event In 2022

(Press release from the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series)

Tri Track Open Modified Series officials announced on Wednesday the fifth date set for the 2022 season. The series will return to the high-banks of Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, April 30, as part of Monadnock’s opening weekend in New Hampshire. The track is a staple on the Tri Track schedule — with two events hosted at the track during the 2021 season.

The April date for next season will be a special $10,000 to win show.

“We’re excited to head back to Monadnock, especially for such a marquee event with a big prize on the line,” Wayne Darling, Managing Partner of the Tri Track Open Modified Series, said. “Monadnock has been on our schedule for many years and we love working with their staff to showcase some of the best racing, and the best Modified talent, in the area.”

This year, in the Wonder Casino 100 in May, Sam Rameau opened the season with a win at his home track, while Chase Dowling scored the victory in the 100-lap race in August. The track produces some of the best side-by-side racing the New England region offers for Modifieds.

“We’re very excited for this event,” Michelle Cloutier, General Manager of Monadnock Speedway, said. “This is becoming a tradition here at Monadnock — to have a two-day show to open the season, with the Tri Track Open Modified Series headlining the Saturday show. The fans love having the Modifieds here and everyone will be looking forward to it.”

Monadnock joins three other tracks as confirmed battlegrounds for 2022 Tri Track events. The series will return to Star Speedway for the SBM classic on July 23, along with the two traditional stops at Seekonk Speedway for the $10,000 to win Open Wheel Wednesday on June 29, and the Haunted Hundred on October 22. Tri Track will also make an inaugural stop at Thunder Road Speedbowl in Vermont as part of Memorial Day weekend on Sunday, May 29. Additional races would be announced in the coming weeks.

  1. Reading tea leaves or wishful thinking?
As a courtesy to Stafford, Tri Track is waiting for Stafford to release their schedule that will show a date at the track.
Also on the prediction list a NWMT date at Monadnock.

  2. RATING THE TRI TRACK RACES FOR 2021.

    TO REFRESH YOUR MEMORIES

Monadnock-5/1-Silk dominated most of the last part of the race but Rameau ended up the winner and earning it passing Hirschman and Silk in the closing stages.

Star-5/22-Dowling dominates most of the race but strangely waits until it’s too late to pit. McKennedy makes all the right moves and takes his new car to victory lane clearly the best car in the field that day.

Star 7/24-starting on the pole Hirschman dominates until lap 79, pits then dominates again charging back to the front while McKennedy and Dowling can do nothing to stop him.

Monadnock 8/14-Dowling holds of Hirschman and Bonsignor in a green-white-checker finish.

Seekonk 8/25-Hirschman green to checker. Some drama at the end with Dowling trying to get to him and a lapped Barney complicating the issue.

Seekonk 10/23-Dowling green to the checkers on one set of tires holding off Silk and others through several restarts.

    My ranking
1-Monadnock 5/1-Rameau who might not be considered a favorite going in does everything right and passes two of the best at the end to do it. The best race in my view by far.

2-Monadnock 8/14-green-white-checker at the end with three of the best.

3-Star 5/22-dramatic with Dowling dominating but knowing he was digging his own grave by waiting too long to pit. McKennedy doing everything right and winning after demolishing a brand new car at the beginning of the season.

4-Star 7/24-A clinic by Hirschman who after pitting late still had to earn the win and did racing to the front and making it look easy.

5-Seekonk 8/25-Dowling was the fastest car at the end but couldn’t quite pull it off running out of laps as Hirschman wins leading the entire race.

6- Seekonk 10/23- Dowling picks the right winning strategy and drive the most conservative race lead all the laps with no real competition even with numerous restarts.
