  1. Great commentary in this forum regarding last weeks CUP race. Combined with the comments made on Unmuffled I know I’ll be making a point to watch the CUP race Sunday. I’ll be looking for a lot of the nuance and detail that has been mentioned over the past week right here so thanks you all for that.

Interesting comments on anxiety over current events. A pandemic causing millions to die prematurely over the last couple years with economic fall out we’re still experiencing. The peaceful transfer of power challenged over a year ago if successful could have fundamentally changed the way we are governed permanently. After all that this gets singled out as a moment of reflection wondering if there is less of a need to make plans for the next month.
I certainly would tune out were it an hour and 12 minutes of hand wringing and doom but for a few minutes it’s simply reflective of what we all feel and in a strange way comforting to hear mentioned. For the few of us left from the duck and cover generation we’ve been living with it complete with periodic anxiety spikes like now for a long, long time. Then we tuck it away and move on.

Part of that is looking forward to the SMART opener tomorrow afternoon with a full racing card available on FloRacing. The Brown Dog Crew will be there with the best active modified driver at Florence Motor Speedway. I’ll be rooting for them as hard as I can hoping that yet another win will lead them to a specific conclusion That being they are on such a roll the only logical conclusion is to take the Pee Dee 60 to the Sizzler to grab the considerable pot of gold on the table for that event.

  2. Ill record and watch later, the cup practice and qualifying tomorrow.
I find there is much more info gleaned from most all drivers during those sessions. I tend to learn more there.
Interesting article in RA this morning. Auston Dillon and a host of other drivers give their take on the situation. For the time being, situation will be the same while Nascar works on solution.
But Dillon’s take is worth the read, if you are interested in this subject.

  3. Dr Robert Neville says

Under current events, checked on race fuel price today. Yikes, was quoted 790 for vp110 54 gal drum, good till tomorrow. Was 590 in December, so not wanting to hold on to that much fuel for over 6 months, I payed 75 for a pail to use for dyno work to get thru. Better keep caution laps to a minimum this year. I already miss the good old days when pump gas was under 4 a gallon and heating oil was under 5, seems like it was just a couple of days ago.
