Avery Stoehr, Jake Trainor Score AMES True Value NEMA Wins At Wiscasset Speedway

(Press Release from Northeastern Midget Association)

Avery Stoehr, back in his familiar Bertrand Motorsports 39, scored a convincing victory this past Saturday evening at Wiscasset Speedway, while Jake Trainor in the Seymour 29 charged through the field to dominate the Lites portion of the event.  The race was sponsored by Ames True Value Supply and Just Ask Rental which is a local family run business four generations strong – with ten 5th generation kids in the wings.

In the NEMA feature, Avery Stoehr would strike fast, bolting out into the lead – setting a torrid pace.  Quickly down into the 12.9 second range, Stoehr would click off some of the fastest laps in Wiscasset history, missing his own track record by .1000th of a second on lap 6 with a 12.876 second lap.  Only a red flag on lap twenty three for a Jim Chambers mechanical issue and track clean up would slow down Stoehr’s run.  When the green flag came back out, Stoehr would go on to take down a convincing victory over John Zych, Randy Cabral, Alan Chambers, Richie Coy, Matt O’Brien, Paul Scally, Jim Chambers, Matt Merry, and Jim Santa Maria.

“We just had a phenomenal car tonight,” said Stoehr.  “I’ve got to thank Keith, Timmy, my Dad, and Jon from Circle Performance who hustled to get our engine done this week,” he said.  “It’s aways great to win here at Wiscasset.”

In the Lites race, Eric Bacon jumped out into the early lead, and was looking to have one of his best runs of the season.  Bacon was running lap times in the low 14 second range, as he maintained the lead until lap eleven.  Behind him, Jake Trainor, Joe Bailey in the Scrivani 21, Avery Stoehr and Todd Bertrand were in hot pursuit.  Trainor blasted his way around Bailey and Bacon, and once into the lead, Trainor set sail, running some of the fastest laps yet in a lite, down into the 13.9 range.  Trainor would pull away and take down the feature victory over Bailey, Avery Stoehr, Bertrand, Dylan Coutu, Mike Pernesiglio, Brayden Egan, Kyle Valeri and Randy Cabral.
