Newly Minted New England Dwarf Car Series Invades White Mountain On Saturday

(Press release from White Mountain Motorsports Park)

Thunder in the Mountains returns this Saturday, June 18 with five weekly White Mountain Motorsports Park divisions plus the New England Dwarf Car Series. The first season for the newly minted Dwarf Car Series under President Ben Bosowski has been going smashingly so far with 16 events on their schedule across New Hampshire and Maine. Multi-discipline racer George Helliwell found himself in New England Dwarf Car Series victory lane twice in their twin-25 program last week and he’ll certainly be one to beat on Saturday.

After a weekend off following the American-Canadian Tour Spring Green on June 11, the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models are ready to light up the North Woodstock high banks once again. Currently Alby Ovitt holds a razor thin margin of just one point over 8-time champion Quinny Welch in the overall standings. Opening day winner Jon Savage sits third, 15 points behind the top runners. Welch is among those to watch this Saturday night, along with defending champion Jeff Marshall and sophomore driver Kasey Beattie. All three represented White Mountain alongside the ACT regulars last week, each posting a top-ten finish against the traveling invaders. After showing their strength at the Spring Green, it’ll be time to bring it home where it counts this Saturday night.

Following an exciting debut event with nearly twenty cars in the pit area, the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models kicked off their 5-race series at WMMP. Matt Sonnhalter in the 33VT slapped his competition across the sauce, dominating their opening 40-lap feature over fellow North East Mini Stock Tour stalwarts Nick Anderson and Desmond Skillings. A handicap for last week’s teams starting this week might be a deciding factor in how Saturday’s 40 lapper goes for the inaugural podium finishers and any new invaders.

The Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers will once again be in full force with their growing car count in 2022. Shane Sicard’s two wins keep him atop the standings over defending champion Jason Woodard and leading rookie Kaiden Fisher. With Kyle Streeter and Chandler Potter jumping into the podium last week, it’ll be quite the fight to take down the win on Saturday.

The Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini Stocks will also return to championship battle with everyone chasing down the ultra-consistent Tyler Thompson. First time winner Chris Moulton sits in the runner-up position while Donnie Baumgardner is holding strong to third.

After taking a week off, the Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division is also back in action with McKenna Merchant ready to return to the top spot after her hard-fought loss to newcomer Connor Charbonneau on June 4th.

White Mountain Motorsports Park continues the 2022 season with five weekly divisions plus the New England Dwarf Car Series on Saturday, June 18th. The weekly card includes continuing point battles for the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Model, Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division.
