RaceDayCT Poll: Will Doug Coby Win Three Consecutive Whelen Modified Tour Events?

Six-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby heads to Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H. Saturday looking to win in his third consecutive series start. Coby goes to Monadnock to make his third series start this year for Tommy Baldwin Racing.

He won the Miller Lite 200 at Riverhead (N.Y.) Raceway on May 14 and the Granite State Derby at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H. on May 21. Should Coby win at Monadnock Saturday it would mark the second time he has accomplished the feat of winning three consecutive Whelen Modified Tour events.

Coby was the last driver on the series to win three consecutive races. He won the final three races of the 2015 season at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Stafford Speedway and Thompson Speedway. The last driver before Coby to win three consecutive was Ryan Preece in 2013 at Stafford, the New London-Waterford Speedbowl and Riverhead.

Incidentally, the last driver to win in four consecutive starts with the series was Ryan Newman, who accomplished the feat by winning at New Hampshire Motor Speedway twice and Bristol Motor Speedway in 2010 and then at Bristol again in 2011.

So do you think Coby will win his third consecutive event Saturday at Monadnock? Vote below.
