Four House Divisions Joining Whelen Modified Tour At Claremont Motorsports Park Friday

(Press Release from JDV Productions)

Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks & Six Shooters Racing on Tap

When the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour rolls into Claremont Motorsports Park this Friday, July 29 for the first time in 15 years, a full card of racing is set for the special event. Not only will the Tour headline the night with a 150-lap main event, four of Claremont’s NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series divisions will also join the show.

The Six Shooters, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks and Street Stocks will continue their chase towards both track championships and NASCAR glory across the country with feature events. The Six Shooters will open the feature portion of the night with 20 laps, while all three other divisions will follow with 25 lap races of their own.

As of the end of last week, the defending NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Division II National Champion, David Greenslit, is back in contention for the crown again this year. The Claremont regular competes in the Street Stock division at the New Hampshire oval and has a healthy points lead with seven victories in 11 races for the division this year. Although Greenslit has dominated, names like Brandon Gray, Andrew Brousseau, Haydon Greiner and Trevor Rocke are also inside the top-five in the track title chase.

The track’s Mini Stock division has multiple different drivers sitting as repeat winners entering Friday night. Points leader Nick Houle has three victories and eight top-five finishes to lead the way, but Sean Lantas, who hasn’t won yet in 2022, is only 20 points back. Additional season winners include Bradon Morrie (two), Greg Millette and Bob Williams. Will someone new add their name to the list by charging to the front in front of a packed grandstand on Friday night?

The Miller family name has been at the top of the Six Shooters division nearly all season, as Steve Miller leads Steve Miller Jr. by 24 points. Between the two of them, they have seven wins, with Lucas Bernatchy and Robert Shaw not far behind, combining for three wins of their own. This exciting division is getting ready to get back on track, while Eric Griffin looks to end a streak as the only driver in the top-five in the championship standings without a win in 2022.

In the Pure Stocks, it’s a tie at the top of the championship standings between Nolan McClay and JD Stockwell, who have five wins between them. Just 12 points back, Chris Chambers has no wins, but top-10 finishes in all but one race.

All four of Claremont’s divisions join a full card of racing with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Clash at Claremont on Friday night, July 29. The race will mark the final of three in the inaugural Whelen Granite State Short Track Cup – as the champion will be crowned, earning $5,000. Right now, Tommy Baldwin Racing and Matt Hirschman’s car owner Roy Hall enter the race tied with 86 points, but the top-five are separated by just five markers. Ron Silk leads the overall series championship standings with seven races to go in the season.

The event schedule for the Clash at Claremont begins at 4:30 p.m., when the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour hits the track for one hour of practice. Following that, the four house divisions will hit the track for 45 minutes of their own practice. At 6:30 p.m., qualifying will begin for the Pure Stocks, followed by the Street Stocks, and NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Mayhew Tools qualifying. Feature events should begin around 7:15 p.m. following pre-ceremonies. While the beginning of the feature events happens, NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour drivers will sign autographs from 7:15-8 p.m.

The green flag for the Clash at Claremont 150 is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. All tickets for the event are available in advance through Thursday, July 28, online at JDVProductions.com. All tickets will also be available at the track on race day. While online, fans have the opportunity to purchase JDV Productions apparel or a special JDV Experience pass to Claremont for just $99. The JDV Experience pass includes a private autograph session with select Whelen Modified Tour drivers, preferred seating at the track and much more.
