When the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series makes its return to the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Aug. 6 it will mean the return to the track for a lot of faces that haven’t competed for some times at the shoreline oval.

One of those faces will be the track’s all-time winningest driver.

Keith Rocco confirmed to RaceDayCT Thursday that he will enter the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Belltown Motors/Fowler’s Auto Wrecking 100 presented by CBYD 811 at the Speedbowl.

It will mark the first event Rocco will run this season at Waterford.

“With the SK Modified stuff, it’s kind of hard to go down with everything else I’ve going on,” Rocco told RaceDayCT. “With my business situation being as busy as I can, it’s hard sometimes to put everything aside and go down there. But I do miss it down there.”

Rocco’s last win at the Speedbowl came in the final SK Modified feature of the season last year

Rocco has 154 career wins overall at Waterford, with 93 of those wins coming in an SK Modified. He has wins in seven different divisions at the track and is looking to increase that number to eight with a Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series victory.

The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series event on Aug. 6 is expected to draw more than 40 cars.

“Obviously we try to run as many [Tour Type] Modified races as we can that don’t interfere with anything else we’re doing,” Rocco said. “The [Tour Type] Modifieds haven’t been to the Speedbowl in quite a while so it’s good to get down there for that. I know there’s probably going to be an abundance of cars and I know it’s probably going to be a pretty tough race just to qualify for.”
