When it comes to action with the Modified Racing Series, one can surmise that if team owner Gary Casella has entered the event, there’s probably a likely chance he’ll be seen in or near victory lane by the end of the night.

And that was the case Saturday night at Wiscasset Speedway in Wiscasset, Maine.

Matt Swanson of Acton, Mass. drove the familiar Casella No. 25 ride to victory lane in the 75-lap Modified Racing Series event Saturday at Wiscasset.

It was the first series victory of the season for Swanson.

Ryan Doucette of Framingham, Mass. was second and Jacob Perry of Pawcatuck was third.

Swanson became the third different winner in three Modified Racing Series events in 2022.

Jon McKennedy won the season opening event for the series on April 17 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Kirk Alexander returned to victory lane with the Modified Racing Series in the division’s event on June 4 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H.
