Adrien Paradis III held off the charges of Nick Hovey to win for the first time this season in the 20-lap Street Stock feature Friday at Stafford Speedway.

“This is huge,” Paradis said. “We’ve had a car that could win almost every week and we’ve just come up short.”

It was the second career victory at Stafford Paradis, of Plainfield. He scored his first win on June 18, 2021.

Hovey, of Chaplin, was second.

“I got close and I just started overdriving it,” Hovey said. “We were a little bit better than him but not really in a spot where I could pass him, cleanly anyway.”

Travis Downey of Barkhamstead followed up his first career victory in the division last week with a third place finish.

“We found some things with the car,” Downey said. “I think I’m getting a little better at driving it. … I’m pretty happy with this. It’s great. It’s a great finish for us, backing up our win from last week.”

Jeremy Lavoie of Windsor Locks got his first victory of the season in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature. Matt Scappini of Litchfield was second and Rich Hammann of Tolland third.
