J.P. Sicard Championship Night Signals Beginning Of The End At White Mountain

(Press release from White Mountain Motorsports Park)

As Saturday approaches, so does the beginning of the end of the 2022 season with the closing of the first championship. After two stellar rounds already this season, the J.P. Sicard Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series will be determined by the final event this Saturday, August 13th. After simply dominating the last five, yes five, extra-distance Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tiger events at White Mountain, it’s Shane Sicard’s championship to lose, and that isn’t entirely out of the question.

After sweeping each of the J.P. Sicard Triple Crown 75-lap events last summer, Barton, Vermont’s Shane Sicard is looking to match his feat once again in 2022. He once again dominated the season opener back in May and after facing some tough competition from former Thunder Road Flying Tiger track champion Brendan Moodie in July, Sicard is ready to wrap up the championship. That is of course if Jaden Perry and Jason Woodard have nothing to say about it. Both Woodard and Perry are just ten-points out, meaning one or the other would have to finish five spots ahead of Sicard to tie and break the tie-breaker with the better finish.

Don’t count out young Kaiden Fisher either. The S.D. Ireland machine is hungry for its first White Mountain win but is no stranger to victory lane. The rookie point leader took a 75-lap event at Thunder Road in July and the win on J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Championship night would solidify the youngster’s talent, even more. Don’t sleep on Tanner Woodard or Mike Clark either, both have shown consistent speed and tenacity the last several weeks and may get a lucky break on J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Championship Saturday.

It’s a three-way dance in the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models as Stacy Cahoon and Jesse Switser are tied in their quest to overtake Quinny Welch atop the standings. Cahoon and Welch look to add yet another championship trophy to their mantle while Switser is looking to take down his first King of the Mountain top prize and may have just the right folks behind him. The Mitchell Brothers Racing team has put a whopper of a Dale Shaw Race Cars together with Switser looking to continue the team’s momentum on J.P. Sicard Saturday.

After an off week, the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models return to the White Mountain highbanks. After taking two of the three events so far, Oxford, Massachusetts-native Nick Anderson continues to hold a tight lead over Granite Staters Desmond Skillings and Ken Marrier. In his two starts, Vermonter Brian Putney has also been in the mix out front, certainly one to keep your eye on this Saturday night. The J.P. Sicard feature event will also be the final test and tune for the division before the big 50-lap, $1,000-to-win event on September 10th.

In Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Mini action, Chris Moulton continues to lead the way over Tyler Thompson while fan-favorites Les Washburn and Todd Derrington have been driving hard and earning wins these last several weeks. The Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division will also return for another week of side-by-side competition for the youngest drivers in the North Country. McKenna Merchant is looking to return to her winning ways while Logan Farnsworth is ready to move up from his consistent 3rd-place finishes to take the top spot on J.P. Sicard Saturday.

Up next at White Mountain Motorsports Park is the Championship Event for the J.P. Sicard Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series! After taking the first two events, can Shane Sicard hold on to take another J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Championship or can someone else beat him to it? Joining the 75-lap main event for the Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers will be the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division. Post Time is set for 6:00pm with full race day schedule and pricing online at www.whitemountainmotorsports.com/schedule.
