Myers Champion Crowned To Be Crowened With Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Flying Tiger 100 Lapper At Thunder Road

(Press release from Thunder Road International Speedbowl)

The first Thunder Road champion of the season will be crowned this Thursday night as part of a jam-packed Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac night on August 4th. It’s the final round of the Myers Container Service Flying Tiger Triple Crown and the 2022 edition is going out in style with the Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac 100, the longest race of the season for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers! All Thunder Road divisions will be on the track, and on the front stretch for the rescheduled Times Argus Autograph Session!

It’s the Chittenden County Clash in the Flying Tiger ranks as Hinesburg’s Derrick Calkins currently leads the Triple Crown standings by 13-points over Milton’s Sam Caron. Calkins also needs to put some muscle into the track championship standings as he sits in 3rd, 23-points behind the razor-thin battle between Caron and Williston’s Justin Prescott. Barre’s Jason Pelkey sits just 15-points out of the Myers Container Triple Crown-throne with all of the top-13 drivers in the running to be a first time Triple Crown champion, keeping a six-year tradition of extra-distance competition alive and well for the ‘#1 Support Division in North America’. The championship Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac 100 for the Myers Container Service Flying Tiger Triple Crown Series is not to be missed!

The Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models continue to be led by a couple of Graniteville’s finest as Midseason Champion Christopher Pelkey will defend his 19-point lead over Stephen Donahue. After bowing out early in the American-Canadian Tour Milton CAT 250 at White Mountain last Saturday with major electrical issues, Donahue and the Norm Andrews team will be looking for redemption at his home track on Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac night. Don’t count out Montpelier’s Kyle Pembroke, Scott Dragon or Marcel Gravel as they play catch-up in the season-long King of the Road battle.

The rk Miles Street Stocks are ready to roll into a busy week at Thunder Road with their 25-lap Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac feature event on Thursday, a quick two-day turn around, and back atop Quarry Hill on Sunday for their annual Bolduc Metal Recycling Street Stock Special 50 lapper. Williamstown’s Josh Lovely has won the last three events in a row with Dean Switser Jr. continuing to lead the championship fight by just 10-points. This may also be the week that ultra-consistent Kyler Davis, William Hennequin or Taylor Hoar enter the winners circle with the checkered flag in hand.

The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors were also added to the Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Night to join in the rescheduled Times Argus Autograph Session during Intermission. While ‘Barbie Boy’ Frank Putney, ‘Flyin’ Fred Fleury and Neal ‘Tetanus’ Foster have been the dominant force in the entry division, the Sayers Brothers, ‘No Look’ Nick Copping and Nate ‘Tater’ Brien are all ready to bounce back into victory lane, whether on four wheels, two wheels or on the roof!
