Wicked Good Vintage Racers Ready To Light Up White Mountain Once Again

(Press release from White Mountain Motorsports Park)

After their White Mountain Motorsports Park debut last August, the Maine-based Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association returns to the New Hampshire high banks with open-wheel Outlaw Modified competition from yesteryear. Wicked Good Night will also feature weekly championship action for Late Models, Flying Tigers, Strictly Stock Minis and Dwarf Cars.

The Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association started out in 2018 with events staged primarily in Maine at Wiscasset Speedway, Bangor’s Speedway 95 and Oxford Plains Speedway. Expanding into New Hampshire in 2019, the Club has been growing ever since. With the goal of preserving vintage race cars and continuing the culture of racing from the 1960s through the 1980s, Wicked Good Vintage Racing is simply a wicked good time!

Groveton’s Quinny Welch will continue to search for his record ninth Foley Oil & Propane King of the Mountainchampionship on Saturday. After getting caught in traffic last time out, West Burke, Vermont’s Jesse Switser was able to gain on Welch with his runner-up finish on J.P. Sicard Triple Crown Championship night. The eight-time champ still has 38-points up on Switser, but that won’t be slowing him down any. With a wildly varying group of young-guns and veterans filling the Late Model standings, it’s still anyone’s game each week at White Mountain.

After Shane Sicard earned his second-consecutive J.P. Sicard Flying Tiger Triple Crown championship last Saturday night, he continues to lead the Wells River Chevrolet track standings as well. Tanner Woodard sits just 13-points behind Sicard in search of the first track championship in his young career and would love nothing more than to follow in Father Jason’s footsteps as the elder Woodard continues to defend his 2021 championship. Currently both Jason and leading rookie Kaiden Fisher are tied for third in the standings at 574 points each. With one of the tightest Flying Tiger points battles we’ve seen at White Mountain, the rest of the year will certainly be one to keep tabs on!

Similarly close is the season-long battle in the Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis between Chris Moulton and Tyler Thompson. The inter-state war between Littleton’s Thompson and Pepperell, Massachusetts-native Moulton has been a back and forth battle each week at White Mountain and it seems the war isn’t giving way to one side or another. As the two have fought, several players have been able to jump to the top in the competitive four-cylinder division, leaving the winners circle a perpetual open-door week in and week out!

The Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars return to White Mountain after a week off following their big Special event on August 6th. Jason Wyman continues his strong lead over Jeff Ainsworth and Dave Gyger as the open wheeled rockets go for two 20-lap segments on Saturday.

Next up at White Mountain Motorsports Park is the return of the Maine-based Wicked Good Vintage Racing Association. These aren’t your grandfathers’ antique racers, these good ole boys and girls race hard each and every lap for the win, sometimes leaving donuts on their vintage doors! Joining them will be the Foley Oil & Propane Late Models, Wells River Chevrolet Flying Tigers, Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Wayne’s Market Dwarf Cars. Post Time is set for 6:00pm with full race day schedule and pricing available online at  www.whitemountainmotorsports.com/schedule.
