Nick Sweet To Make Supermodified Debut On Milk Bowl Friday At Thunder Road

Nick Sweet, the four-time and defending Vermont Milk Bowl winner, Thunder Road International Speedbowl track record holder and multi-time King of the Road track champion has officially entered the New England Supermodified Series (NESS) event on Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Milk Bowl Friday on September 30th. The special Friday Night showdown also includes the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model 150, PASS Modifieds and Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models.  

Nick Sweet has just about done it all at Thunder Road International Speedbowl including Rookie of the Year honors, track championships in multiple divisions, winning all the premier American-Canadian Tour, Pro All Stars Series and Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model events at the iconic track and is now looking to add a new division to his resume. Friday’s 50 lap feature for the New England Supermodified Series will be Sweet’s first ever turn in the wide-stance, high-winged superpowered machines.  

Although he’s mastered the track, Sweet will be facing some of the best in New England Supermodified racing including current NESS point leader Rob Summers and Northeast open-wheel legend Russ Wood among others. He won’t be driving just anything either, Sweet will be piloting the very same #77 machine Derek Griffth took to Oxford Plains Speedway victory lane on Oxford 250 weekend!  

The ultra-fast, high adrenaline Supermodifieds thrilled the Thunder Road crowds in their inaugural event back in June and are ready to perform once again on Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Milk Bowl Friday. Also on the Friday schedule will be the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models 150, the Kennebec Equipment Sales PASS Modifieds and the Ammonoosuc Asphalt Mini Late Models. Friday’s Four Division program is just $25 for adults, $10 for kids aged 6-12 with those 5 and under Free! Three-day Milk Bowl weekend tickets are also available at $55 for adults, $20 for kids aged 6-12 with kids 5 and under free all weekend! 

Saturday, October 1st brings back Booth Bros./Hood Milk Bowl Qualifying Day with Time Trials and $1,000 to win triple-50 heat races for Late Models, group time trials and Mini Milk Bowl segment one for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers and rk Miles Street Stocks plus Full Mini Milk Bowls for the White Mountain Motorsports Park Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank Strictly Stock Minis and Dad’s 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division. Saturday night will feature the Thunder Road Go-Carts on the infield along with band Vinyl Spell and Bonfire in the Turn Three and new VIP Parking Areas.  

Sunday, October 2nd showcases the 60th edition of the famed Vermont Milk Bowl presented by Northfield Savings Bank. Headlined by the $12,000 to win ‘Toughest Short Track Stock Car Race in North America,’ Sunday’s action also includes the final segment in the career-defining Flying Tiger and Street Stock Mini-Milk Bowls plus the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warrior Mini Milk Bowl.
