Change Of Ownership Likely Coming At Lee USA Speedway

The 2022 racing season came to a close this past weekend at Lee USA Speedway in Lee, N.H.

It marked the conclusion of the fifth year operating the facility for track owner Norm Wrenn Jr.

When the track opens for the 2023 season it will likely do so under new ownership.

Hudson (N.H) Speedway owner Ben Bosowski confirmed to RaceDayCT Monday that he and Wrenn have agreed to a deal for Bosowski to purchase Lee USA Speedway.

“We’ve worked out some stuff but we’re just waiting on the lawyers and all that other stuff,” Bosowski told RaceDayCT. “The plan is that I am going to take it over for next year, we just don’t know when that is going to happen.”

Wrenn purchased Lee USA Speedway from Red and Judy MacDonald in February 2018.

Wrenn, a longtime racer in the Northeast, also owns Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H. He bought Monadnock in December 2018. Wrenn and Bosowski are co-owners of Claremont Motorsports Park in Claremont, N.H. They purchased that facility together in early 2019.

Attempts to reach Wrenn were unsuccessful.

Bosowski said he’s unsure on the timeline for completion of the purchase of Lee USA Speedway.

“The lawyers is what’s holding this up,” Bosowski said. “It’s all minute stuff that we’re trying to button up on now.”

Bosowski said his intention is to continue operating Lee USA Speedway as a short track. Bosowski purchased Hudson in early 2018. He said he’s unsure what the future holds for that facility.

Asked if Hudson was for sale Bosowski said: “Everything is for sale for the right price, but no one likes my prices.”

The .375-mile Lee USA Speedway opened in 1964. It is currently part of the NASCAR Advanced Auto Parts weekly racing series. The track hosted the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on May 21, 2022. It marked the first time the series had visited the track since 1998.

“I think Ben will do a good job,” said MacDonald, who owned Lee from 1986 until selling to Wrenn in 2018. “He’s done a nice job at Hudson. Hudson is not a big time track and he’s done great there. … I think he can do even better at Lee. He can basically put on any kind of a race there with a really good infield pit area and all that is there.”

This sounds like Hudson potentially might be going in the same direction as Beech Ridge. Hopefully that is not the case.

at least there is some transparency and info here. hopefully between the “monopoly” of owners short track racing will still be available for fans and competitors in the great state of new hampshire….

  4. Hudson is in a nice location,, maybe too close to Lee for Ben,, but expect someone to pick it up.. A third party for Ron+BEN the “New Hampshire Connection” ????

Ben , Good Luck with both Lee and Hudson, Keep Lee Fridays and Hudson on Sundays & keep the Traditions rolling along… I have enjoyed racing at Both tracks.. Won a Championship at Hudson and Feature Win , but never Won at Lee… Only got a handful of chances at Lee at Octoberfests and the old 4th of July special races midweek in the Summer …Ben and His Father are Racers.. Used to Run the # 50 Camaro Outlaw divisions… The Hudson Track has had many many updates and changes under Ben’s tenure.. The improvements were clearly seen by all who watched races there.. Put in a backstretch wall…. There were quite a few who ended up in the Pond or small trees over the years on the backstretch … Put in new bleachers … Painted up most areas … It was always a fun place to go up on Sundays and get lots of practice laps and heat races and feature laps in… Get paid in Cash at the end of the night in the Tower.. Always had excellent Trophy’s to hand out to the Top 3… Not many Places recognized the top 3 back then…. Bob Webber was ahead of His time .. Giving the top 3 recognition and their sponsors some time in front of the Fans… Rest in Peace Bob….. A great Ambassador of Racing … !!!!!!!

  6. The steel company next to Hudson has wanted that property for a while according to my sources. It is just a matter of time before someone buys it for industrial use,
