Who Have You Missed?: Big Names Highlight Unmuffled Episodes Over Last Month

Who have you missed in the last month on the Unmuffed podcast? Let’s take a look.

On Episode 137 we had a special storytellers edition with Shawn Waddell of Waddell Communications. Waddell has been around the sport for decades, worked with some of the biggest names in the sport and has become part of the fabric of short track racing across the Northeast and beyond. We take a deep dive with Shawn into his history in the sport, the evolution he’s seen during his time in racing and racing communications and much more.

Episode 133 featured one of the true legends of Northeast short track racing, Ben Dodge. For the first time publicly Ben opened up about the health issues he has faced that forced him to step away from the sport most of the 2022 season and where things stand now with his expectations for a possible return to the track. And Ben offered plenty of opinions on the state of New England Modified racing heading into the 2023 season.

On Episode 135 we chatted with SRX Series CEO Don Hawk following the release of the 2023 season schedule for the series. Hawk spoke extensively about his long history in stock car racing, the restructuring of the SRX for 2023 and why Stafford Speedway and Thunder Road are on the schedule this year.

On Episode 134 we caught up with the always talkative longtime gem of motorsports journalism and announcing Matt Buckler, who opened up about his recent health issues involving a leg amputation, his hopes for a return behind the microphone in 2023 and more. We also chatted with reigning Modified Racing Series champion Jacob Perry on his hopes for a 2023 ARCA appearance at Daytona.

On Episode 136 we caught up with Bertrand Motorsports team owner Tim Bertrand just hours after he celebrated as the winning car owner at the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals. Bertrand opened up about the road getting to the Chili Bowl in partnership with Kevin Swindell and plenty more about the emotions of the week and getting to victory lane with driver Logan Seavey.

actually listened to all of these. It’s worth the small paywall donation to be up on events and get the inside iggy on the deal.
Excellent choice of guests Shawn, thanks for always being on the ball and ready with the microphone in addition to the keyboard
