Return Of Serie ACT Quebec Buoyed By Championship Caliber Teams

Following the announced return of Serie ACT Quebec teams, sponsors and officials have excitedly jumped on board in support of the renewed ACT-sanctioned venture North of the Border. Already, eleven top caliber teams from Quebec have registered for the 2023 season, each expected to tackle the bulk of the 2023 Serie ACT Quebec powered by XPN Canada schedule. 

After an unexpected end following the 2017 season and the COVID-19 pandemic curtailing attempts to revive the series, a new promotion group stepped forward. Andre Poulin and Howard Romanado, promoters of Autodrome Chaudiere and Autodrome Montmagny, respectively, were in talks throughout the 2022 season and have recreated Serie ACT Quebec from the ground up. Now, the 10-race series sliced equally between Montmagny and Chaudiere throughout the summer has teams joining up to take on the challenge.   

Topping the early driver roster is a pair of former Serie ACT Quebec champions, St-Denis’ Patrick Laperle and Blainville’s Jonathan Bouvrette. Both hard-nosed drivers have earned American-Canadian Tour wins on both sides of the US/Canadian Border, each as recently as just last season! Diehard Serie ACT Quebec fans will remember the final-race showdown these two drivers had back in 2017 which saw Bouvrette edge Laperle by a mere 24-points in a 1-2 finish at Autodrome Montmagny. We expect another season-long battle in 2023.  

While Laperle and Bouvrette head the Old Guard, they are far from the only talent to rejoin Serie ACT Quebec partner tracks Autodrome Chaudiere and Autodrome Montmagny send top tier representation. Chaudiere regulars Marc Begin, Sebastien Couture and 2022 winner Michael Lavoie join 2007 Serie ACT Quebec Rookie of the Year Eric St-Gelais to complete the elder statesman of the reimagined series for 2023. 

Not to be overshadowed, a group of top youngsters are also ready to make waves, starting with 2022 American-CanadianTour Rookie of the Year Alexendre ‘Fireball’ Tardif. Tardif is still searching for his first points-paying ACT win after five podium finishes in the States last year, but it won’t be easy. The Larue Motorsports stable heads the youth-movement with Raphael Lessard in the iconic 48QC and William Larue in the 55QC, both having strong and winning runs in 2022. 2022 Autodrome Chaudiere Track Champion Jeff Cote has also thrown his hat in the ring as has Autodrome Montmagny regular David Gagnon.
