$18,000 Purse For 64-Lap Thunder Road All-Star Race Alongside SRX On July 20th

(Press release from Thunder Road International Speedbowl)

Thunder Road officials announced today the planned purse of $18,390 for the Late Model All-Star Race as part of the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) event on Thursday, July 20th. Alongside such acclaimed SRX stars as Andretti, Stewart, Newman and Tracy, the international Late Model stars of the Northeast will be gunning for a $3,000 grand prize in the winner’s circle with a guaranteed starting pay of $450 for the twenty-six drivers that take the green flag in the 64-lap race to honor Thunder Road’s 64th season of operation.

Eligibility to attempt to qualify for the Late Model All-Star Race on July 20th comes in multiple ways. The event is open to any 2023 Late Model winner in weekly competition at Thunder Road International Speedbowl and White Mountain Motorsports Park (NH) as well as 2023 winners in American-Canadian Tour and Serie-ACT Quebec competition. By winning at Hickory Motor Speedway in ACT Tour events on March 18th, both Derek Gluchacki and D.J. Shaw punched their ticket to qualify for the All-Star Race at Thunder Road!

Along with all 2023 winners of these four tracks and touring series, any Late Model driver sitting in the top-five in points at these respective tracks or series on the week of July 20th will also be eligible to qualify for the special event. Lastly, former Late Model champions at Thunder Road, White Mountain and on the ACT Tour and Serie-ACT Quebec will also be eligible to join in the All-Star extravaganza.

“We haven’t held an All-Star-type event since the 1980s, so we’ve gone all out to celebrate our teams alongside some of racing’s biggest names with SRX,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “The $3,000 to win catches everyone’s attention while the $450 to start in a 64-lap race will insure we’ll have the greatest collection of high-caliber teams we’ve had assembled at Thunder Road in decades.”

The Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) will debut at Thunder Road International Speedbowl with global stars like Tony Steward, Tony Kanaan, Brad Keselowski, Marco Andretti, Bobby Labonte and more converging on the iconic Barre, Vermont highbanks on Thursday, July 20th. Alongside the SRX stars will be the first-ever Late Model All-Star Race open to the best of the best in 2023, including local heroes from Thunder Road and New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park as well as touring series titans from the American-Canadian Tour and Serie ACT Quebec. The gloves are sure to come off to become the All-Star champion with $3,000 waiting in victory lane and immortality at the Northeast’s premier Late Model driver on the line!
