Magic Mile To Host NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour on Saturday, July 15

The annual NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour trip to New Hampshire Motor Speedway is set for this Saturday, July 15. Doug Coby and the Tommy Baldwin Racing, Mayhew Tools team will return to the 1.058-mile oval looking to improve on their run at the track last year. In the 2022 event, Coby finished seventh after some mid-race issues forced him to charge from the back of the pack.

In 36 New Hampshire starts, Coby does have four wins, with the most recent coming in 2016. The track produces one of the top races of the year for the Whelen Modified Tour – with drafting a major player in the winner, while most times, the race comes down to the final few feet before the winner is decided.

Coby is looking to get back to Victory Lane for the second time this season on the Whelen Modified Tour. His first victory was at Monadnock Speedway back in May.

“Racing at New Hampshire has changed a lot in the last couple of years because it’s a lot more difficult to put yourself in position to be there with a chance to win,” Coby said. “A lot of people are changing their strategies and refining their stuff to be there. Some of them are more willing to shuffle you out for fourth or fifth with 15 laps to go… you just have to have a car that can pull out of line and make passes. It comes down to having a good car and doing the best you can to put yourself in a good spot for the final laps.”

The New Hampshire Motor Speedway events are set for two-days, with practice and qualifying for the Mohegan Sun 100 on Friday and the main event on Saturday evening. The race will air live on FloRacing.TV at 6 p.m., just after the NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday.

  1. Off topic but how did he manage to spin sat at wall drive around the field including current leader and run over the RF. Of the 46 and no penalty but the 26 got a penalty sounds like time to call BS

  2. Rob h, some people are more equal than others.

    🤷‍♂️

When NASCAR doesn’t make the calls, natural law gets executed on the track. Remember “HAVE AT IT?” That’s what they say when they are afraid to do their damn job! There are several cars that Dug 🤡 Colby will be extra careful when he’s around them.

Again, I have a poll suggestion: What lap range will the 7NY Dug 🤡 Colby get taken out? (lap 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, …)

    👀

  3. Coby was using his hand telling the 46 he was number one and they both mis judged where they were going hard to figure out isn’t it.

  4. I now call him the Mayhew Jackscrew… watch for him in your rearview!
