Justin Bonsignore Wins Pole In Whelen Mod Tour Mohegan Sun 100 Qualifying At NHMS

Justin Bonsignore’s quest for a second victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway will begin from the pole in Saturday’s Mohegan Sun 100. 

Bonsignore, of Holtsville, N.Y., led the way in qualifying for the event on Friday evening at NHMS. 

Bonsignore toured the 1.058-mile oval in 29.321 seconds to set fast time of the 29 cars in qualifying. 

It marks the second consecutive pole at NHMS for Bonsignore, a three-time series champion. In Bonsignore’s last seven series starts at NHMS Bonsignore’s worst qualifying effort was fourth. 

Bonsignore’s lone victory at NHMS came in the F.W. Webb 100 on Sept. 24, 2016 at NHMS. In 24 career series starts in Loudon since 2010, Bonsignore has nine top-five’s and 13 top-10’s. 

Anthony Nocella of Woburn, Mass., who scored his first career series victory in last year’s Whelen Modified Tour event at NHMS, qualified second with a fast lap of 29.365 seconds. 

Six-time series champion Doug Coby of Milford was third fastest in qualifying at 29.593 seconds. 

Series points leader Ron Silk of Norwalk was fourth fastest and Austin Beers rounded out the top-five in time trials.
