Matt Swanson and his Gary Casella owned team kept their recent hot string rolling Saturday in Wiscasset, Maine.

Swanson, Acton, Mass., topped the field in the Milton Cat Modified Racing Series Nor’Easter 75 at Wiscasset Speedway Saturday.

It was the second victory and third podium over three events for Swanson in the Casella ride over a span of 11 days.

Swanson won the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Open Wheel Wednesday at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway on June 28. He followed that up with a third place finish in an Open Modified event at Star Speedway in Epping, N.H. on July 3.

Kirk Alexander of West Swanzey, N.H. was second and Joey Jarvis of Ascutney, Vt. was third Saturday at Wiscasset.

A caution with eight laps remaining at erased a sizable lead for Alexander. Swanson got by Alexander with four laps remaining to take the lead for good.

  1. i had 0 idea this race was even happening, which is pretty scary for the series with as much i am online

I attended this race. Was in the area with family and thought I’d check it out. 15 cars for the car count crowd. 2 wrecked at the green. Yet it seemed enough on the small third mile. Kind of a cross between seeking and monadnock. There was mist in the air and they hustled the show right along. Alexander checked out but lots of side by side battles throughout the field. Without the caution Swanson would have been a distant second. Get this- admission was $5. Yup five American dollars. Pits were $20. They must be doing something right because it was a great crowd.
