Thunder Road Teams Gear Up for Extra Money on McGee Hyundai Of Barre Super Friday

(Press release from Thunder Road International Speedbowl)

Following a busy Labor Day weekend at the Nation’s Site of Excitement, the Thunder Road faithful return to action this Friday night for the rain-delayed Super Friday presented by McGee Hyundai of Barre on September 8th. While the all-new rk Miles Street Stock Triple Crown crowns a champion on Friday, the track championship season comes down to just two final events for the red-hot chase in the standings.

Wolcott’s Kyle Gravel holds a slim 3-point lead in the rk Mile Street Stock Triple Crown standings over Trevor Jaques and Dean Switser Jr. with Switser also chasing his second-consecutive four-cylinder track championship. Rough luck for the top-two point leaders James Dopp and Cam Powers in the Labor Day two-fer tightened up the championship standings to bring Switser, Jaques and Kyle MacAskill into the title conversation. $500 waving on the finish line will once again prove that anything can happen in the ultra-competitive division.

The top-5 in Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model points remain separated by just 25-points with two events remaining on the schedule, including Friday’s $1,500-to-win showdown on McGee Hyundai of Barre Super Friday. Scott Dragon’s fourth win last Friday helped propel him to the top of the standings as the Milton driver looks to earn his third King of the Road title to join Chuck Beede, Vermont Governor Phil Scott, Thunder Road co-owner Cris Michaud, Derrick O’Donnell and Jason Corliss on the all-time list.

Colchester’s Sam Caron continues to head the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger standings, the defending champion is still searching for his first win of the season and would love to steal away the $1,000 win on Friday. Standing in his way is Brandon Gray who continues to consistently hit top-5 and top-10 while Jason Pelkey and Kyle Streeter are tied just 25-points out. All will be hot to trot for a Friday night thriller.

Thunder Road is back Friday, September 8th for Super Friday presented by McGee Hyundai of Barre. All four Thunder Road divisions will be in extra-cash-winning action including the Late Models, Flying Tigers and Street Stocks as they continue to battle for their respective championships with the Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors searching for their 12th different winner in the 2023 season! Post Time is set for 7:00pm with adult admission set at $15, kids 12-6 for $5 and children 5 and under free! The Family Four Pack, two adults and two kids is also available for $30.
