
The SK Modified division at Stafford Speedway will have a familiar face returning to action at the historic half-mile tonight.
Eric Berndt will get behind the wheel of the Petty Cash Motorsports No. 85 entry for the NAPA Championship Night event at Stafford.
Berndt will race in the 40-lap SK Modified feature and non-points TC 13 Shootout event for the team tonight.
Jimmy Blewett had been the full-time driver of the car but is currently sitting out due to a neck injury. Woody Pitkat, who had been filling in for Blewett in the ride, is committed to running the Modified Racing Series and late Model feature tonight at the Sunoco World Series at Thompson Speedway.
Berndt is a 22-time winner in the SK Modified division at Stafford and sits ninth on the division’s all-time win list. Berndt runs full-time in the SK Modified division at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl, where he sits second in the standings, 10 points behind leader Todd Owen.
Berndt last ran an SK Modified at Stafford in 2019. He ran 17 of 20 events that season and had two wins, five top-fives and 10 top-10 finishes.

Thompson , Lee , Star, Hudson, Seekonk i had tons of time on the exhaust circuit…Stafford knowledge is shallow… I did remember that he drove for Berkley Racing Bobby Katon on the Modified Tour after Dick Houlihan retired from Tour Modifieds, Dicky was one of the best mini mod and Pro Stock Drivers I ever raced with…!!
