Hoosier Tire East, Lime Rock Park Announce MiataCon Prize Packages

(Press Release from Lime Rock Park)

Lime Rock Park will add an extra layer of excitement and competition for MiataCon entrants, as The Park announces contingency prize packages for class winners.

Lime Rock Park will bring two brands synonymous with grassroots racing together as the Connecticut circuit adds new sponsor Hoosier Tire to MiataCon (Oct. 27-28). Hoosier Tire East is providing an enticing contingency program for the inaugural event, awarding the winners of each featured race class with a pair of high-performance Hoosier racing tires. Subsequent podium finishers for each class will also receive a Hoosier Tire as part of their prize package.

The competition will get even spicier on track as drivers from each class vie to become a Miata Master. Lime Rock Park will underwrite the entry fees for the class winners to return to MiataCon in 2024 and their titles as Miata Masters. Each of the winners of the afternoon races on Saturday and the registered driver in the enduro are eligible for the prize.

Slated for Oct. 27-28, MiataCon celebrates every generation of the Miata MX-5 with three different Miata competition classes: Spec/Global MX-5, Spec Miata, and an Exhibition group which will include any race-prepped Miata that doesn’t fit into the first two groups. These groups will culminate in a one-hour enduro on Saturday (Oct. 28) mixing all three classes on the track at the same time.

Registration is open to all professional and club racers through Sports Car Driving Association (SCDA). Drivers can register at Driver Registration – MiataCon.

“We are thrilled to have Hoosier Tire East as a contingency partner for MiataCon,” said Lime Rock Park Director of Sales and Marketing Jamie Kistner. “Their dedication to grassroots motorsports aligns perfectly with the spirit of MiataCon. This partnership enhances the excitement of the event and demonstrates our shared commitment to supporting racers at every level. With the Miata Masters award, we hope to increase the level of competition across the field and celebrate the drivers who brought their best to the weekend. Best of luck out there!”

Practice and qualifying will fill Friday’s on-track activity, with Saturday opening with sprint heat races from each group and culminating with an hour-long multi-group enduro.

Friday’s activities will feature “MiataX” – Miata-only autocross lapping sessions on the FCP Euro Proving Grounds. A limited number of MiataX spots will be available via the MiataCon registration page. The weekend will also feature a number of Miata-only HPDE sessions.

Miata owners from all generations will have the chance to come together to celebrate their love for the Japanese sportscar. The weekend will feature five different Miata Car Corrals where like-minded Miata enthusiasts can park amongst each other and participate in parade laps around the iconic LIme Rock circuit. The different corral classifications include: NA Miata (1989- 1997), NB Miata (1998 – 2005), NC Miata (2006 – 2015), ND Miata (2016 – present) and Mazda/JDM Sportscars.

Miata-themed vendors and exhibits will outfit Lime Rock Park’s midway.
