Full-Time SMART Modified Tour Schedule With SS Racing, Select CARS Tour Pro Late Model Races With TBR Part of Busy Calendar

Tommy Baldwin Racing and Sadler-Stanley (SS) Racing announced today plans for Luke Baldwin to compete during the 2024 race season in Tour-Type Modified events.

Baldwin will step up to Tour-Type Modifieds driving for SS Racing in the entire SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic schedule in the No. 7VA. He will also compete in a part-time CARS Pro Late Model Tour schedule for Tommy Baldwin Racing and additional select 602 Modified events.

His season schedule will begin at Caraway Speedway in 602 Modified racing on Saturday, January 27, followed by back-to-back days of racing at Auburndale Speedway in the 602 Modifieds on February 8 and 9.

He will then roll to New Smyrna Speedway’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in February with four 602 Modifieds events, where he will defend his 2023 World Series title.

For SS Racing, Baldwin will drive a PSR Chassis.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity that Sadler-Stanley Racing has provided to get into some top-notch equipment in my jump to Tour-Type Modifieds,” Luke Baldwin said. “I’m excited to get to the first race at Florence and continue to build on experience every time we go to the race track together. Our goals will be to race for the Racing Electronics Rookie of the Year and go out there and try to win my first race… the team is definitely capable of doing that. The potential is endless in this deal.”

“The opportunity to run CARS Tour Pro Late Model events for TBR is also special because we will do it as a family,” Luke Baldwin continued. “We gained some crucial experience last year with Walker Motorsports and will continue to build on everything we’ve learned and go out there and race against some great competition in select races.”

Baldwin’s CARS Tour Pro Late Model events will be at Orange County Speedway on April 20, North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 14, Hickory Motor Speedway on July 27 and Ace Speedway on August 9.

Tommy Baldwin Racing’s full 2024 driver lineup and schedule will be announced soon. Fans should stay tuned to TBR’s social media channels for more information.

“We’re excited to see Luke make the move up,” Tommy Baldwin Jr. said. “We have a great lineup of drivers and events planned for what will be another busy year for Tommy Baldwin Racing in 2024. We’re excited for fans to see our full schedule soon.”

Can you let us know more about the Winter Showdown at Auburndale Speedway? I saw it posted on the tracks website yesterday. If my memory serves me correctly the Winter Showdown has historically been a Legends, Bandeloro extravaganza. On the schedule the Legends etc will be sticking around at Auburndale for their finale on FEB. 10. I wonder if the same Lady that tried promoting some tour mods a few years back at Bronson has anything to do with bringing the 602’s and tour mods to Auburndale? I guess if not her then someone else thought they would give a pre-New Smyrna tour modified type promotion a try. There are about 4-8 602 mods in Florida that raced semi-regular in 2023 at New Smyrna. Most of them seem to be transplants from somewhere in the northeast. One problem is them guys couldn’t even get close to keeping up at New Smyrna when the real 602’s came to town the last couple years at Speedweeks. It could be small fields of cars, which seems to be the new normal most everywhere these days. If many other fast cars show up the Florida cars will just be field fillers. If only Luke Baldwin shows up with the Florida cars maybe the promoter can get him off to the side and encourage him not to stink up the show. Either way I’d like to see the modifieds at Auburndale and I’ll go watch at least one night if they race em there.
