Central Vermont and Northeast race fans can expect one of the most explosive nights of racing at the Nation’s Site of Excitement on July 18 with officials announcing on Monday that the superstars of Thunder Road will tackle Double Features plus an added bonus program worth over $30,000 in payouts! With the championship-impacting intensity of double features and added cash rewards at the end of the night, the Thursday Night Stars of Thunder Road will showcase excitement unmatched under the lights on July 18!
All four Thunder Road divisions, the Maplewood/Irving Late Models, Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors, will each run twin double features with their own respective point funds for the night. $2,500 in bonus cash will be distributed among the top three drivers with the lowest average finish between their two feature events!
Along with their individual race purses in both double features, the Road Warriors will battle for a $125, $75 and $50 breakdown while the region’s top four-cylinder track championship Street Stocks will bound over one another for a $250, $150 and $100 top three fund. ‘The #1 Support Division in North America,’ the Flying Tigers will chase a $350, $250 and $150 structure in double feature action while the King of the Road Late Models will fight for $500, $300 and $200.
“With everything we went through with SRX, it really just proved to us that we have the true superstars right here on a weekly basis,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “We wanted to reward the racers with the bonus point fund program and reward our great fans with the added action that comes with double features.”
Along with today’s schedule update, Officials have also updated Season Pass pricing for the season. With the change, race fans that already purchased 2024 Season Passes will be receiving Thunder Road gift cards good for the difference in pricing. These gift cards will be available for season pass holders at the main ticket booth starting on Opening Day weekend, May 4th and 5th.
