Coming off his 41st career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory at Richmond Raceway last week, Justin Bonsignore will be back to the track this weekend in New England.

As the race season kicks-off in the area with the annual Icebreaker at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, the third race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season will take place on Sunday, set for 150 laps.

Bonsignore has been to Victory Lane in eight of the last 14 Tour races at the Connecticut oval.

In 43 career Thompson starts, Bonsignore has over 815 laps led and top-five finishes in over half of his starts. He will be back behind the wheel of the Kenneth Massa Motorsports, Ryan Stone prepared, No. 51 Phoenix Communications entry.

“Thompson has always been one of my favorite tracks on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule,” Bonsignore said. “Having the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour back at Icebreaker weekend is important to kick-off the New England season. We know the fans in New England have been waiting all winter to see some racing. We have some momentum on our side after our Richmond win and we’re looking forward to getting back to Thompson this weekend.”

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Thompson is a one-day show, Sunday only. NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour practice will roll from 12:30-1:30 p.m., followed by Mayhew Tools qualifying at 3:30 p.m. The green flag for the Icebreaker 150 is slated to fall at 4:30 p.m., live on FloRacing.TV.
