STAFFORD – On May 17 Travis Hydar scored victory in the 20-lap Street Stock feature at Stafford to make history.

It was the 21st career victory in the division, giving Hydar sole possession of the top spot on the track’s all-time win list for the division.

And Hydar wasted little time in extending that record win total.

Hydar kept the field in check for most of the race in rolling to victory in the 20-lap Street Stock feature Friday at Stafford.

It was the third victory in four events this season for Hydar, who also won the season opening event on April 27. In the only event Hydar has not won this season, he was leading the event in turn four of the final lap before getting spun by Ryan Waterman.

“This is awesome,” Hydar said. “I really hope we can keep this momentum rolling the whole season.”

Bill Cote of Somers was second and Bert Ouellette of Ellington was third.

Hydar passed Cote for the lead on lap eight and never trailed again.

“This thing was super fast,” Hydar said. “It was really good in practice, it was really good in the heat race. I was just able to get through the field in the feature.”

Rich Hammann got his first win of the season in the 20-lap Limited Sportsman feature.

Hammann became the fourth different winner in the division this season.

Jeremy Lavoie of Windsor Locks was second and Gary Patnode of New Hartford third.
