
STAFFORD – Chris Matthews held off the charges of Nick Anglace over the closing laps to win the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature Friday at Stafford Speedway.
It was the 21st career SK Light Modified win at Stafford for Matthews, of Stafford. Matthews sits atop the all-time win list for the division.
“We got a little tight there at the end and he was definitely getting a lot better,” Matthews said. “I just did what I could do to hold him off. I wasn’t sure we were going to make it back here but this Chassis Pro car did it, it’s awesome.”
Anglace, of Ansonia, was second and Tyler Chapman of Ellington.
Matt Clement of Wethersfield topped the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature.
Devon Jencik of Canton was second and Kyle Theriault of Three Rivers, Mass. was third.
Jason Lafayette of Somers won the 20-lap Street Stock feature.
Jason Raymond of Somers was second and Brandon Warren of Chicopee, Mass. was third.
