After a thrilling night of action on Quarry Hill to celebrate the Independence Day holiday, the stars and cars of Barre’s Thunder Road return to action this Sunday, July 7 for the Jack Daniels Ready to Drink Cocktails 100! Round two of the inaugural Squier Cup Late Model Triple Crown, the 100-lap showdown is set to be an instant classic on the highbanks with added attractions from the Flying Tigers, Street Stocks and Road Warriors for the twilight special with a 5:00pm Post Time on Sunday!

The Maplefield/Irving Late Models are coming off a first time winner and plenty of mid-pack drama after last night’s 50-lap feature. Williston’s Justin Prescott earned his first career victory less than 24-hours ago, bringing the A.H. Fence Chevy Camaro back to Thunder Road victory lane for car owner Arny Hill with a big family victory lane celebration. Prescott, current track championship point leader Chip Grenier and Squier Cup point leader Cody Blake are among those looking for a strong run in Sunday’s Jack Daniels Ready to Drink Cocktails 100, while others may be looking to settle the score. A flat right front deflated Nick Sweet’s chance at Thursday’s Fourth of July win while a gloves-off battle for fifth saw Kaiden Fisher and Keegan Lamson have quite the physical battle and the youngsters may still be seeing red on Sunday.

The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers put on the race of the night last time out, going green to checkered without a single yellow flag caution with plenty of side-swiping action throughout the field. Kyle Streeter bounced back from an out-of-form last place finish to a strong-run victory last night with the Waterbury Center driver looking to regain the offense in his track championship defense! While Brandon Gray powered up through the field, thinking twice on three wide moves more than once, Sam Caron continues to sit atop the standings after also driving up through the field for a top-ten finish.

Josh Lovely made it two-in-a-row last night after having a rough start to his 2024 rk Miles Street Stock campaign. Trevor Jaques continues to be the dominant force, powering his way through the field from an eighteenth-place starting spot to finish third and maintain his point lead. Jaques main foe, Dean Switser Jr. was caught in a mid-race pile-up on the backstretch but made swift repairs to salvage a fifteenth place finish last night. Switser will need the Jack Daniels Ready to Drink Cocktails redemption this Sunday to narrow the ever widening gap between himself and Jaques if he is to nab another rk Miles Street Stock championship.

The Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors will also return this Sunday, coming off their fourth different winner in as many events this summer. Ben Bushey beat career Warriors ‘Tater’ Brien and Tyler Wheatley to the line in last night’s 20-lap trophy dash and looks to be the first repeat winner of the season on Sunday.

Thunder Road continues a busy holiday stretch in just two days with the Jack Daniels Ready to Drink Cocktails 100 on Sunday, July 7. The 100-lap showdown for the Maplefield/Irving Oil Late Models also serves as Round #2 in the inaugural Squier Cup Late Model Triple Crown plus continued action from the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers, rk Miles Street Stocks and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors. Sunday’s Post Time is set for 5:00pm with grandstands opening at 3:00pm. Adult General Admission is $15, kids 12-6 for $5 with children 5 and under free plus the Family Four Pack (Two Adults, Two Kids) for $30.
