(Press Release from American-Canadian Tour)
American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced today an exciting addition to the Thompson Speedway schedule on Sunday, September 8. The Back to School Bash 75 for the Thompson Late Models will feature a 75 lap, $5,000-to-win showdown on the Thompson highbanks open to all ACT Late Models across the northeast! The big money, extra distance affair is now set as the headliner to the Sunday, September 8 program at Thompson which will also include the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks with a 3:00pm Post Time!
The Thompson Late Models annually put on some of the best racing of the night on the 85-year-old, 0.625-mile at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and their chance to prove that fact will come at full bore on Sunday, September 8. The $5,000-to-win spectacular is sure to attract not only the track championship hopefuls but also a strong contingent of invaders ready to tackle the big money purse in preparation for a busy Sunoco World Series weekend featuring the American-Canadian Tour on October 11, 12 and 13.
“A long-time supporter, who wishes to remain anonymous, came to Tom and I with an idea to headline September’s Sunday program with a big Late Model race and we were all for it,” said American-Canadian Tour managing partner Cris Michaud. “Both Tom and I think this will be a great way to round out the summer program before we come back full steam for the Sunoco World Series in October.”
Thompson Speedway returns to oval racing action on Sunday, September 8 with the Back to School Bash! The Sunday special is headlined by the $5,000-to-win Back to School Bash 75 for the Thompson Late Models plus continued track championship action for the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks to ring in the end of summer fun at full speed! Post Time is set for 3:00pm on Sunday, September 8 with the full schedule of events available soon!

This sounds pretty cool, I guess I’ll have to put this one back on my “go to” list!
GREAT!!!! Thanks to the ACT and PASS guys once again, And a special thanks to the anonymous long-time supporter for coming up with this idea,
I have to say I didn’t know Thompson was running Sunday until today. I guess that’s my fault for not checking the schedule every week. Might not be the brightest idea for a big late model race a day after a big 100 lapper at Waterford. But then again, If more than six cars show up, that’s a win.
The Speed bowl 100 lap 3k to win late model race is this Saturday Aug 31st assuming it is run as scheduled. The 5k to win Thompson Race is the following Sunday Sept 8th which is opening Sunday for NFL. FYI no Seekonk conflict this Saturday.
The Waterford 100 lap late model race is August 31 so team should have plenty of time to get ready.
Yes my apologies. I thought the 8th was this weekend for some reason.
Good to see $5k on the top. Unfortunately the back 2/3rds of the field only races for 1/4 of the purse.
