(Press Release from New Hampshire Motor Speedway)
The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will join the NASCAR Cup Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sept. 19-21, 2025.
NASCAR roars back to Loudon in a big way in 2025 with New England’s only NASCAR weekend moving to the Playoffs Sept. 19-21, and the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) joining the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). The NCS will kick off the Round of 12 while the NCTS drivers will battle it out to remain above the cut line for the Round of 8.
“The two questions fans ask me the most are ‘When are we getting a September race back?’ and ‘When are we getting the Trucks back?’, and now we have both,” said New Hampshire Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager David McGrath. “We are so thankful to our loyal fans who have supported us during NASCAR’s annual summer stop in New Hampshire, but they wanted this, they deserve this, and we are ecstatic to not only be returning to the NASCAR Playoffs, but we are thrilled to host the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series as well.
“We’re excited to bring our race fans a high-energy weekend with intense action from the sport’s top names who will all be fighting to secure their spot in the next round of the Playoffs during arguably the most beautiful time of year in New England.”
The 2025 NHMS NCS race will be on Sunday, Sept. 21 while the NCTS race will join the Mohegan Sun 100 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour (NWMT) race on Doubleheader Saturday, Sept. 20.
The NCTS most recently raced at NHMS in September 2017. NCS regular Christopher Bell marked his first trip to victory lane at “The Magic Mile” during that race, and he’s since earned a total of seven wins at NHMS after 11 starts across all three series that includes one NCTS win (2017), four NASCAR Xfinity Series wins (2018, 2019, 2021, 2024) and two NCS wins (2022, 2024). His most recent NHMS win came earlier this year after a history-making NCS race in which wet-weather tires specifically designed for racing on damp surfaces were used for the first time in the middle of a NCS race on an oval track.
The 2025 NASCAR weekend will be the only visit by America’s most popular form of motorsport to the six-state New England region. TV/radio broadcast start times, network affiliations and entertainment will be announced at a later date.

Great News!!!! No More Baking In The Heat!!
The trucks are back at NHMS! AWESOME!!!
Going to be a tight September for the NWMT based on this if the same September races come back.
oswego->monadnock->NHMS->riverhead?
That last weekend in September would be riverheads normal track champ night, so idek if they would want the tour there then. And it would go up against the usual date for the fall final.
It would also set up 6 races in 6 weekends if North Wilkes and Thompson are back on the same weekend.
cant see either of those options happening. wonder what changes.
This is awesome. Modifieds at NHMS in September. I love New England!!!
Excellent news for NHMS and New England race fans. Should be a great weekend of racing in comfortable temperatures.
Nice. I know people who don’t go to NHMS because its too hot in the summer. This will make the races more enjoyable for the fans. Zig is right that is a jam-packed schedule for mods. Lets hope weather doesn’t get involved.
2025 NWMT schedule is going to be interesting. I wonder if they’ll keep Richmond in March with no cup dates rather than august and move north wilkesboro to all star weekend in may to free up September for New Hampshire. Feels weird saying this but racing almost weekly will hurt the tour from late August to October with all the available races to choose from locally as well. Maybe have Martinsville in the spring and the end the year at Thompson. If they go from august Thompson to Richmond the next week it will be interesting. Especially if the open schedule is the same as this year- NWMT Richmond probably Thursday night, TRI track Waterford on Saturday then that coming Wednesday is NWMT Thompson race and Friday is open 80 Stafford. Maybe Oswego gets to move to the spring or right after the Sizzler.
I can’t see any world in which they return to Richmond.
Martinsville has 2 national series triple headers again in 2025. So I’d guess any modified race there would have to end up on their own weekend again like this year.
March is an interesting month though. I think you could travel down south that month without all that much fuss due to the season not getting going up here yet.
i could see riverhead shifting back up into june with NHMS moving.
Maybe the Thompson summer show shifts to june, so riverhead can run may/august to give a little breathing room in September.
I did see a tweet claiming there’s going to be 7 or 8 NASCAR races in CT this year. But who knows.
should be a fun month or so of schedule speculation.
