Stafford Notes: Travis Hydar Gets Ninth Street Stock Win Of 2024; Chris Matthews Tops Second SK Light Mod Feature

STAFFORD – When it comes to victory lane at Stafford Speedway in 2024, the most common visitor has been Travis Hydar. 

And Friday the Travis Hydar show was back on in victory lane. 

Hydar, of Woodbury, scored his ninth win in 15 events in the 20-lap Street Stock feature Friday at Stafford. 

Hydar extended his all-time track leading record for wins in the division to 28. 

Tyler Trott of East Hartford was second and Bert Ouellette of Ellington third. 

Chris Matthews of Stafford passed Matt Brewer for the lead on lap 15 and went to win the second 20-lap SK Light Modified feature of the night. 

It was the second victory of the season for Matthews and extended his all-time record leading win total in the division to 22. 

“This Chassis Pro car awesome tonight,” Matthews said. “… This thing is great, I’m really really happy with it.” 

Brewer of Norwich, had a career best second place finish and Casey Vogt of Windsor Locks was third. 

Matthew Winter II of Springfield, Vt. got his second win of the season in the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature. 

Matt Clement of Wethersfield was second and Rich Hammann of Tolland.
