STAFFORD – On Friday at Stafford Speedway there was a moment during the NAPA SK 5K that caused some confusion and questions for some watching the event.
Under caution on lap 54 second place running RJ Marcotte was black flagged and it was announced that Marcotte was being penalized for not holding a racing line. It was a moment that had a lot of people asking questions about when this became something that would be a penalty situation at Stafford and what led to that taking place on Friday. We spoke with Tom Fox, the director of racing operations at Stafford, to get a better understanding of exactly what took place and why.

That kid RJ did a great job the first 50 laps and did nothing wrong.he raced the 22/33 just like everyone else does,I’ve seen bigger guys do worse, That was a terrible call. It’s like they pick and choose who they want to penalize officials should be ashamed of them selfs for making that call.terrible!
The race director call is final. Apparently he saw something we couldn’t to make the call. I’ve known Tom Fox since his days as a competitor. As race director he’s put in a box to make some tough calls at times. Although he doesn’t always get it right, he’s at about 96%. He treats everyone the same and doesn’t play favorites with anyone.
I STILL SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH MARCOTTE DID!!!!!
